On June 28, I made the following post on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter):
“Regarding the Biden-Trump debate on TV…
It looks like Trump will be elected. However… the Fed has assassinated 2 American Presidents. It might try again before he is elected.”
Is it a prophecy? No…
It is not my style to throw out a claim and try to explain it with a conspiracy theory. When you look at events through the lens of economic history, it becomes easier to foresee the future.
The duty of an economist is to make forecasts. To do this, one must be well-versed in economic data and economic theory. However, that is not enough.
It is important to know history, especially economic history, and to analyze cause-and-effect relationships. Thus, the role of economic history in analyzing past wars, conflicts, and major technological and social changes, as well as world geopolitics, is immutable.
Let’s come to the Trump assassination attempt...
It is common knowledge that Trump harbors less-than-favorable intentions regarding the American Central Bank, the Fed… He had revealed this with his statements during his presidency. He says that when he is elected, he will dismiss Fed Chair Powell. But more importantly, this:
According to a report in the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal on April 26, 2024, Trump has begun preparing a 10-page plan that would eliminate the Fed's independence. According to the plan, the Fed would consult with the President when making interest rate decisions, and Trump would be able to dismiss the Fed chair whenever he wishes. The Treasury Department would be able to oversee and control the Fed's bond purchases. The Fed would not be able to set policies contrary to the administration's goals.
In the meantime, let us add this note: A large number of economists, including 16 Nobel laureates, published the Berlin Memorandum on June 25. The text of the declaration stated that the economic policies promised by Trump, if he were elected, would increase inflation and cause serious damage to the global economy.
I don't know if Trump was influenced by our President regarding Central Bank independence and interest rates, but I am sure he has angered the Fed quite a bit.
When this topic appeared in one of the most influential newspapers in the economic world, such as The Wall Street Journal, I inevitably took a look at history regarding the wrath of the Fed.
I have a book project that has not yet been published. After the tremendous leaps in technology and the crises that neoliberalism has fallen into, what kind of economic structure will take shape?
What will generally happen to the throne of the dollar? Will the US-China rivalry turn into a major conflict? Everyone is saying something different. I also think that to better understand the situation of the dollar, one needs to get to know the American Central Bank, the Fed, which prints the dollar. A short summary from that unpublished book project:
TO UNDERSTAND THE DOLLAR AND THE FED
The American Central Bank, the Fed, is not an institution of the United States. During the war of independence they waged against England, the American colonies received significant financial support from European bankers. When the colonies won the war in 1776, the bankers received their reward for this aid and gained the authority to print dollars in the newly established US.
About 90 years later, President Abraham Lincoln, who ended the American Civil War, took the authority to print dollars out of the hands of the bankers on the grounds of war expenses.
In 1865, the American State began to print its own dollars. Lincoln's most important political decision was the abolition of slavery.
In 1865, he was assassinated by a Southerner who defended slavery.
Whether the assassination was organized because of the abolition of slavery or because the authority to print dollars was taken from the bankers and given to the American state is a separate subject of debate. (Today, Abraham Lincoln's picture is on the 5-dollar banknotes.)
We come from 1865 to 1913. In 1913, with the pressure and fait accompli of some banker families, primarily the Rothschilds and Rockefeller families, the law for the dollar to be printed by bankers was passed by Congress on Christmas Eve. It was signed by President Wilson at lightning speed an hour later, and the Fed was established by 8 banker families.
The Fed gained the right to print dollars and to give the dollars it printed to the US Treasury and other banks in exchange for interest, and it was exempted from all kinds of audits and taxes.
In 1913, the Fed was established by 8 banker families, four in the US and four in Europe. The families living in the US: Rockefeller, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Kuhn Loebs… The families living in Europe: Rothschild, Warburg, Lazards, Mosses Seif…
THE DOLLAR BECOMING THE WORLD CURRENCY
It would be appropriate if volumes of books were written about the dollar becoming the world currency and the Bretton Woods conference. It is very difficult to summarize this topic in one paragraph, but I will try with courage.
At the Bretton Woods Conference, which gathered before World War II had even ended, the US opposed Keynes's and England's proposal for a common Central Bank for the world. The dollar was accepted as the international reserve currency. First, the IMF and the World Bank were established for the hegemony of the dollar (July 1944).
Then the Second World War ended. (May 1945 in Europe, September 1945 in Japan…) After the war, the UN was established on October 24, 1945, and there was also a condition for UN member countries to be IMF members.
The empire of the dollar was declared before the war was even over, and the necessary financial institutions were established before the war ended. And of course, a gendarme was needed for this empire. NATO was established on April 4, 1949. Wars and the US Navy are also behind the establishment and continuation of the dollar's current empire.
KENNEDY, WHO OPPOSED THE FED'S AUTHORITY TO PRINT MONEY
Interestingly, 98 years after President Abraham Lincoln, who took the bankers' authority to print money in 1865, President John F. Kennedy, who also defended the rights of Black people, opposed the government receiving dollars from bankers in exchange for debt and proposed a law for the transfer of the bankers' right to print dollars to the state.
He, too, was defending Black people, and he, too, wanted the state, not the bankers, to print the dollar.
John F. Kennedy also fell victim to an assassination on November 22, 1963. The same fate awaited his brother, R. Kennedy, who was the Attorney General.
This is the short economic history tour behind my sharing the possible assassination attempt on Trump on X on June 30. At this stage, my intention is not to produce new conspiracy theories. It is to briefly remind you of the dollar and the families that control it, and to emphasize that the hegemony of the dollar is very painful.
The Fed is always behind bloody wars. It eliminates Saddam and Gaddafi, as well as American Presidents who set their sights on the independence of the Fed…
