According to data I doubt the accuracy of, Turkey is the world's 17th largest economy. However, when we look at society as a whole, we see TTurkey is turning into a country of hungry and poor people. This transformation has been particularly evident since the year 2021, with the "Nas" (religious justificationcarried out by citingthe interest rate cuts, it happened veryrapidly.Ittook place. The mistakes of the 'Nas' (religious-based) policies wereabandoned, but the damage theycaused still persists. A segment of societyA large segmentcontinues to become impoverished.

While global foodprices are falling, in Turkey, they are mercilesslyis increasing in thisway. This is the result of both economic policies and agricultural policies... Economistİnan Mutlu, in September 2021followingthe 'Nas' (interest rate) policies, as a result of the exploding inflation, Turkey and the world's fprepared a chart showing the increase infood prices and shared it ontheir X account.

The food price index, which was 100 in September 2021,fell to 97.9 globallyin October 2025,marking a decline.nd. In Turkey, it has jumped to 683.7 in the same period. Food prices have increased 7-fold in four years.

This graph shows how the Turkish people are being dragged into hunger and misery. Moreover, TUWith HR data... If a calculation were also made based on ENAG data, who knows how much it wouldcomeout to?

This increase in food prices is, alongside poverty, one of the most significant causesof the recent rise in food poisoning.

TÜRK-TÜRK-İŞ announced thehunger and povertythresholds for a familyof fourfor the month ofNovember. The minimum

wage wage is 22,104 liras.

The hungerthreshold is 29,828 liras. It is 7,724 liras higher than the minimum wage.

The povertythreshold is 97,159 liras... In afour-personfamily, theIf everyonein the household worked for minimumwage, it would total 88,416 liras. EconomistIris Cibre has been tracking the minimum wage-hungerthreshold-poverty threshold ratio since 2019.prepares a chart showingand shares it on the X platform. There, we also observe that the poverty line has skyrocketedalong with the 2021 'Nas' (interest rate) policies.

I would like to thankboth Ms. İris Cibre and Mr. İnan Mutlu for the charts they prepared.I amgrateful.Pages of writingthey help us grasp the subject at a glance.

While the landscape is this clear, the raise rates being discussedfor the minimum wagestart at 20 percentand the most optimisticgo up to 30 percent.TheEven if you give a 50 percent raise, in the second month of 2026 it willagain fall below thehungerthreshold.

Wage earners and retirees are being impoverished more everyyear. Ten years ago, the minimum wage wasthe average per capita incomewas at the 48.6 percentlevel, while todayit is at 40.6 percent, and the average pension was at the level of the per capita average income of49.1 percent, while today it has fallen to the 31.8 percent level. They saya village in sight needs no guide. In 2026,it is clear that Workers, retirees, farmers will become even poorer.

WE ARE THE 17TH LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD BUT HUNGER IS RAMPANTING

Supposedly, we are the world's 17th largest country. But hunger and misery are rampant. When ranked by per capita national income in the world, we are in 77th place. But this 77th place Tfor the Turkey average. Eighty percent of the population has fallen below the poverty line. Half of this (is nowApproximately 40 percent of the population is below the hunger threshold. When nearly 10 million refugees are included, our ranking is not 77th, but perhaps even below 100th. will decrease.

I had also said that I doubted the national income accounts. The main reason for my doubts is that inflation is not measured correctly.on it... National Income (Gross Domestic Product) is measured at current prices. Then it is deflated. Deflate means adjusting for price increases. There is a difference between inflation and the national income deflator.TÜFor inflation, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) preparesa basket of goods and services(currently consisting of 406 items) and calculates the increase in consumer prices. In national income accounts (GDP), changes in the prices ofall goods and servicesare taken into account. We call this the GDP implicit deflator.

The deflator does not reflectinflation measurement one-to-one. But if they are very differentfrom each other, there must be reasonableexplanations.Let's look at the inflation and deflatorof the last two years. For example, in 2024, the GDP deflatorrate was 49 percent, and theannual average inflation rate was58.51 percent. The deflator waslower than the annual averageinflation. This means the national income comes outhigher. (ENAG inflation is86 percent)

But in 2023,the opposite happened. Theannual average Consumer Price Indexwas 53.8 percent, and the GDP deflator was 64.7 percent. (ENAG inflation was 127 percent...)

From the marketto the bazaar The vast majority of citizens who speak out believe that inflation is not measured realistically. They believe that inflation is not measured realistically anddoubt is also prevalent in me. Therefore, the deflator of an institution that cannot measure inflation correctly measured the deflator correctly is notpossible.I cannot evenbelieve it.

Furthermore, therelationship between the exchange rate and inflationhas broken down. Theexchange rate is beingsuppressed. Theexchange rate is notwhen it falls below the required level, when you convert your national income into dollars it turns outthat you get a result as if you have more national income than you actually doinfact.

Naturally, I cannot accept that our national income is around 1.5 trillion dollars.

Furthermore, there is this: If Turkey is the world'sIf it is the 17th largesteconomy and its national income is 1.5 trillion dollars, why is there so much hungerand misery? Why isabout 80 percentof the society below the poverty line? The answer is simple...

There is a disastrous income distribution and the country is in a not at all fair manner is being managed very poorly.
