There is such a gloomy atmosphere in the air that I realized, thanks to a WhatsApp message I received, that I hadn't listened to music for a long time. In the message, a woman was singing a French love song with a smooth voice and a magnificent interpretation. Below the post, there were also the Turkish lyrics to the song.
The song is in French. Its Turkish title is "Ters Işıkta Aşk" (Love in Backlight)... It is a song about the love Mustafa Kemal experienced with Dimitrina, the daughter of the Minister of Defense, during his years as an attaché in Sofia. Its description briefly states:
"A love, a farewell, an eternal wait... This song was born from a true love story that left its mark on history. With touches of Balkan and French music, its heart-touching lyrics and unique orchestration take the listener on a journey through time."
I listened to the song many times. It was newly uploaded to the YouTube channel. At the end of this article, I will share the link to the YouTube channel, Lebon Classic Music. After listening to the song, I noticed that there were 5 more songs next to the one shared on WhatsApp that tell the story of the love between Mustafa Kemal and Dimitrina. All of them are in French. All of them were performed with excellent vocals and perfect orchestration. And interestingly, they all appeared in the last 15-20 days.
Such beautiful songs, with no promotional activity, and all appearing in the last 15-20 days! With journalistic curiosity and living in such a time, we have become suspicious of everything. When I encountered songs that touched my soul and such a perfect voice as Juliette Beaumont's, I naturally wondered, "who are the creators of these songs?"
As someone who was involved in music in my youth, recorded the songs I composed in a studio in the 2000s, and is a member of MESAM, I am someone who has experienced and knows every stage of a song, from songwriting to composition, arrangement, studio orchestra and vocal recordings, and mix settings. The work done is a very successful production.
I started researching using open sources on the internet and Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT paid version). It is a project called "Mustafa Kemal’e Aşık Kadınlar" (Women in Love with Mustafa Kemal). The person behind the project is Ali Özoğuz. All the lyrics and music belong to him. Inspired by this real-life, unfinished love story, Ali Özoğuz wrote the lyrics—often from the perspective of the Bulgarian General's daughter, Dimitrina Koceçeva, and in one song from Mustafa Kemal's perspective—and composed the music.
Ali Özoğuz is a writer. From his books, I understand that he is a lover of Turkey and Mustafa Kemal. He also spent 6 years unjustly in Silivri during the Ergenekon conspiracy trials. I did not come across a past music career for him. I say I didn't come across a music career, but I must state this immediately: You don't necessarily need to know how to read music to compose. I won't name them here, but many of our famous composers and performers create a melody without knowing musical notation, but by feeling it. Then, a successful arranger-composer rewrites that melody for an orchestra. There are many songs that tug at all our heartstrings like this. Today, artificial intelligence provides great support for these stages. Özoğuz has embarked on a beautiful project. He wrote lyrics and composed music inspired by the loves Mustafa Kemal experienced.
I researched that magnificent voice in the songs, Juliette Beaumont, both on the internet and through artificial intelligence channels. I won't go into the technical details here. As a result, I can say this: There is no footprint of this smooth voice in the music world for a "Juliette Beaumont." She could be an artist emerging with a new name, or a vocal created by artificial intelligence. But that doesn't matter.
The work done, the vocal and orchestra recordings, is not an easy task. If it were recorded with live instruments, the production cost would be at least 300 thousand dollars. However, in our age, these things can be done much more perfectly and at much lower costs with artificial intelligence.
The project requires great effort. It requires time. I think such a project should have strong promotional activity. I discovered this project by chance in a WhatsApp group without any promotional activity. When this article was written, the song I shared had 14 thousand views on YouTube. The other songs had around 500-1000. I didn't want these beautiful songs and this beautiful project to be left in the corner. In the future, it could be a wonderful musical film. It could also be a modern operetta. This Sunday, go to YouTube, subscribe to the LeBon Classic Music channel... Try to feel the emotions of the women in love with Mustafa Kemal.
