Turkey is experiencing some of the darkest days in its history, both in foreign policy and domestically.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was placed at the center of Turkish politics by the United States years ago, continues to find support with the backing of trolls and pro-government media, even during a period in which he has displayed major contradictions.
As is known, Israel has razed Gaza to the ground with its attacks, which have turned into genocide and horrified the entire world. Tens of thousands of Palestinian women, children, and elderly people have been torn from life. Thousands have been left disabled and homeless. They are struggling with hunger.
During this process of genocide, it is painful that Turkey, let alone concerning itself with the plight of Palestine, transported Azerbaijan's oil to Israel. One of the darkest faces of the AKP, Özlem Zengin, personally stated in Parliament how much money fell to our share from these shipments.
Trade ships never stopped meeting Israel's needs. Fearing the public's reaction in domestic politics, the ships continued to head toward Israel using various methods and by changing routes.
Those who voiced these truths had their social media accounts blocked, were forced out of the country, and detention and arrest warrants were issued for some.
Investigations were also launched against those who showed solidarity with Palestine. Protesters were manhandled and dragged away.
While everything was out in the open, the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine was used in domestic politics. Marches were organized in Istanbul. One of the participants in the march was President Erdoğan's son-in-law, Selçuk Bayraktar.
While Bayraktar was marching for Palestine on one hand, he was also partnering with the Italian arms manufacturer Leonardo, which sells weapons to Israel, on the other.
There was nothing secret about the agreement. The signatures were signed in front of the cameras.
Strangely enough, after journalist Fatih Altaylı evaluated this development in all its clarity on his YouTube channel, he was detained and arrested on charges of threatening the President, based on a completely different discourse by creating a different context. on charges of threatening He is still imprisoned in Silivri....
While the tradition of political Islamists conducting politics through the lens of Palestine continues uninterrupted, not a stone remains standing in Gaza. Babies and children are dying of hunger.
Not a single person can step up and ask, or perhaps they simply do not ask, "What have you really done for Palestine, and what do you plan to do?"
While a great human tragedy is unfolding right on our doorstep, while one of the most painful genocides in human history is taking place, and while the whole world has begun to react to it; Developments are occurring that will disrupt our relations with the US, Israel's greatest supporter, in terms of strategic power balances.
So what about President Erdoğan? He makes harsh statements targeting Netanyahu at every opportunity. Strangely enough, Netanyahu does the same... And Erdoğan met with the President of the US, Israel's greatest supporter and the creator and backer of wars in the Middle East.
Donald Trump, who met with Erdoğan at the White House, openly "I do not want you to buy oil from Russia" he said.
Before President Erdoğan had even flown to America, Özgür Özel, the leader of the opposition CHP, had made statements that would shock the public.
Özel had claimed that Erdoğan had met with US President Trump's son, requested a private appointment from Trump, that certain negotiations were held during this secret meeting, and that an agreement to purchase 300 Boeing aircraft would be announced at a press conference. The government did not deny this, and everything happened exactly as described.
During this process, there were developments that drew our attention to many facts, and many people converged on the same point of reaction.
Donald Trump, a monument to arrogance and ignorance who has never benefited from the rules of diplomacy or general human communication, and perhaps the rudest figure in political history, said whatever came to his mind while in front of the cameras with President Erdoğan, who represents the Republic of Turkey at the highest level.
There were deep messages beneath his signing show, his rhetoric, and his body language.
Especially the frame where Trump stood while Erdoğan was signing was a display of authority reminiscent of a teacher-student relationship.
Trump, regarding Erdoğan's "As long as this soul is in this body, they will never be able to take it" reminded us once again how he handed over Pastor Brunson, whom he had previously spoken about.
Trump's remarks regarding Brunson laid bare the current state of the judiciary in Turkey. The President could not say, "Our judiciary is independent," and sat there listening without saying a single word.
We were forced to sign a natural gas deal with the U.S., which has its eyes on our underground mineral resources.
Naturally, everyone was reminded once again of the natural gas reserves that are constantly being 'discovered' during election periods.
The hysterical social media posts of a worthless clown shouting "Open the windows" flashed before my eyes.
Ultimately, under the agreement covering the years 2026-2045, BOTAŞ will purchase approximately 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent in LNG annually.
An agreement was also signed between Turkish Airlines (THY) and the US-based aircraft manufacturer Boeing, involving the purchase of more than 200 passenger planes. With this, another question came to mind... The issue of the "domestic aircraft," which was the favorite of AKP's election campaigns 14–15 years ago, again during election times.
The government, which made the Boeing deal for Turkish Airlines, somehow managed to gather plenty of votes back then with this fairy tale of a domestic aircraft...
The treacherous media, fattened by public resources, and propagandists claiming to be journalists kept serving up an image of an aircraft drawn in graphic software. And that aircraft was decorating billboards during election campaigns.
As details of the meeting between Erdoğan and Trump continue to emerge, Trump saying, "Erdoğan asked for a favor regarding Halkbank for me," was also a major scandal.
For Trump to point with his hand at the President representing the Republic of Turkey and say, "He knows the best about rigged elections" was an even bigger scandal. It was a clear message. It was a threat....
The parts of the meeting reflected in the press horrified the citizens of the Republic of Turkey. We do not know for now if there are other oddities that have not been reflected in the press.
The imperialist US's businessman capitalist president, arguably Israel's greatest supporter...
So, isn't this close friendship with Trump, the billion-dollar deals, and having every demand fulfilled like a command, a betrayal of both Turkey and the Palestinian people, who are so frequently used for political leverage? Isn't it a betrayal of humanity?
To act as if there are no US-made weapons among the bombs raining down on Palestine...
Is Trump's hand not stained with the blood of a child from Gaza? Are there not bombs among those tearing apart the bodies of babies in Israel that bear the 'Made in USA' signature?
What is this theater if not a manifestation of the true face of Islamism?
Is there much difference between Trump and Netanyahu? If there is, what is it? What distinguishes Trump and makes him a 'friend'?
Everything is clear and plain. Collaboration with imperialists is out in the open.
Political Islam, which always acts in line with the interests of the US and Israel, has once again done what it does best.
Political Islamist right-wing governments continue to deceive and impoverish the public with rhetoric about "homeland, nation, scripture, religion, and the call to prayer."
We might be able to cope with poverty, but if we lose our country, we won't even have a poverty to try to cope with.
We must immediately rebuild our independence and the rule of law through the will of the people.
The period ahead will reveal the struggle between those who derive their legitimacy from US President Trump and those who derive their legitimacy from the people.
