How were the real issues we need to discuss obscured?

The government in Turkey is increasing pressure with each passing day.

Students, politicians, journalists... Anyone who is in opposition is being silenced through detentions, arrests, and bans.

All of this is being done not only to exert pressure but also to dissipate social reaction and divert attention elsewhere.

So much so that whatever the most important agenda item of the country is one day, it is replaced by another event the next day.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) is taking new decisions that will hinder independent broadcasts; a licensing requirement is being imposed on the YouTube channels of individual journalists, and it is announced that the platforms of those who do not comply will be shut down. Access bans are being imposed on the X accounts of those who share boycott messages.

Are all these a coincidence? Of course not. The goal is to divert attention. To manage perception, and therefore society and its dynamics.

There are government bureaucrats who are incredibly talented at this. New crises are created one after another to completely scatter social reflexes. While the impact of a previous event is still ongoing, a new provocation is suddenly put into play. We even witnessed the hijacking of a CHP election bus in recent days.

It is impossible to keep up with the government's speed in perception management. However, constantly chasing after them and becoming prisoners of the agenda they set is also our mistake, both as citizens and as journalists.

Therefore, our priority should be to build a systematic struggle. We must conduct the struggle for rights, law, justice, and democracy not with momentary reactions, but with a long-term strategy.

Without falling for manipulations, by being vigilant against agenda diversions, and most importantly, without giving up...

By the way, let's go back a few months... Which issues did all these things we have experienced actually prevent us from discussing?
