Political Islamist hypocrisy has reached a point that is no longer just disturbing, but openly repulsive. Maintaining a de facto and strategic alliance with the US while simultaneously pretending to stand in an anti-US position is a contradiction that cannot be explained by reason or logic.
Let us refresh our memories… During the last US visit, rhetoric about "my friend Trump" filled the air; newspapers close to the government ran headlines about friendship and cooperation. Laughter, warm poses, and mutual praise were in no short supply. Yet, this US is a state known for its interventions not only in Venezuela but all over the world, a state that makes life miserable for peoples with its imperialist policies. The same US is the greatest political, military, and economic supporter of Israel.
The question that must be asked here is clear; How is a "friendship" established with the leader of the imperial power that keeps Israel afloat while simultaneously putting on a show of reacting to Israel? It is impossible to ignore this contradiction or cover it up with bluster.
Of course, the power of the US, its global influence, how it brings countries and structures under its control, and whom it entices with the green of the dollar should be evaluated separately and in a more comprehensive article.
The intervention of US imperialism in Venezuela is a threat to all countries of the world, especially Turkey.
Moreover, we are aware that the US has been making moves in this direction for many years, in a wide sphere of influence and in a multi-dimensional manner. For imperialism does not distinguish between geography or regime; it intervenes wherever it sees profit. It does not even care if children's bodies are torn apart by bombs in line with its interests.
When we look at the last 20–30 years, especially during the AKP government, we see that a wide space for maneuver has been opened for the US.
Through privatizations, the country's strategic assets have been transferred to foreign capital, basic sectors in public hands have been liquidated, and Turkey's economic and political independence has been seriously eroded.
This process, decorated with "national and domestic" rhetoric, has in reality deepened Turkey's dependence on imperialism. Strangely enough, the imperialists got everything they wanted. The AKP, which on one hand complains about foreign powers and claims to be fighting them, has always been saved by artificial debates involving those very imperialists whenever it gets into a tight spot.
What the so-called "strategic alliance" relationship established with the US means must now be discussed clearly. Bilateral agreements with the US must be put on the table, NATO membership must be terminated, and Turkey's foreign policy must be freed from the chains of imperialist dependence.
Otherwise, every statement made as if one were against imperialism will be nothing more than an empty propaganda sentence; it will go down in history as another example of political Islamist hypocrisy.
Today, right next to us, we are facing a similar picture in Iran. Imperialist powers have stepped in once again. They are tainting the rightful rebellion of the Iranian people; their struggle for liberation, enlightenment, and to escape from reactionary darkness and poverty. The Iranian people are in a difficult process where they are forced to fight against both the darkness of the reactionary mullah regime and the vile interventions of imperialism at the same time.
