The pro-government media and Kılıçdaroğlu...

We have become so accustomed to being tossed from one astonishment to another! In these days when our collective memory is tested by a new absurdity every day, the moments when Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu stood before the cameras have been etched into our political and media history as a cautionary tale.

Following the "absolute nullity" decision that sparked great public debate, there was immense curiosity about what Kılıçdaroğlu would say. Everything from his tone of voice to his body language was a subject of interest.

Kılıçdaroğlu's statement, "We will return the CHP to its roots; it will have moral values," was a very clear message. Everyone knows very well what this means. However, the most striking aspect of the press conference was not Kılıçdaroğlu's words, but the owners of the microphones who were practically trampling over each other to record them.

While Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized "moral values," the sight of those lined up before him was a crystal-clear snapshot of how the press in Turkey has been transformed into a political apparatus.

Who wasn't among those following the statement?

Akit, known for its anti-republican editorial line and for hurling unspeakable insults at Kılıçdaroğlu in the past; A Haber, the government's primary propaganda organ; TRT, which has long since lost its impartiality despite being funded by public resources; TV100; CNN Türk and DHA of the Demirören Group; TGRT; Habertürk; Show TV and İHA... They were all there in full force.

Let us take just one step back and recall the recent past.

Are these media outlets, which today lined up and set their cameras in the front row so as not to miss a single letter from Kılıçdaroğlu's mouth, not the very architects of a smear campaign rarely seen even during the recent election period?

Did the same channels and the same newspapers not keep edited videos and fake images on their screens and headlines for days, aimed at associating a political rival with the PKK terrorist organization, discrediting them, and fueling social polarization?

Those who deemed every kind of immoral method legitimate just to win an election, and who presented those fabricated images to the masses as if they were real, were today aligned in front of Kılıçdaroğlu under the mask of a great "journalistic" effort.

The fact that the pro-government media, which yesterday tried to place a political actor side-by-side with PKK terrorism using cheap edited footage, stood at attention in full force before Kılıçdaroğlu today is proof of the ruling bloc's dominance, power, and planned organization in the media from top to bottom.

Those microphones are not tools of press freedom or journalistic reflex; they are instruments of political engineering, new polarization scenarios, and the anxiety of protecting their own survival.

Despite such clear developments and this reckless theater being played out right before our eyes, there remains only one sentence for those who cannot see that this entire process is actually a political fiction constructed for the future of the government and its cohorts...

"When will you see it?"
