Abdülkadir Selvi… Are you an agent?

Hürriyet’s "Illegal Palace" columnist Abdülkadir Selvi, who was openly tasked by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during a television program to defend the government with the instruction "Do what is necessary, Abdülkadir," has spilled another "secret" from his pen.

In his long article dated July 24, 2024, he tucked this sentence in with "diabolical cunning":

"It appears that as we head toward the 2028 elections, the infighting over the presidential candidacy within the CHP will grow… The war of tapes and files will heat up."

Well, how do you know that, my friend?

Did you record those tapes yourself?

Are you an agent or a provocateur?

Which intelligence agency do you work for?

Who or whom are you serving, and how much are you being paid for this service?

I have been a journalist for forty-three years; I am rapidly approaching an age where I might even mispronounce my own name.

But I know better than my own name that the information above is not the information of a journalist!

No real journalist knows whose tape it is.

They cannot know.

If they know, they are not a journalist; they are an agent, a spy, or someone in another profession!

Now Abdülkadir Selvi says, "The war of tapes and files will heat up!"

I ask again.

How do you know?

Don't try to be clever and use the excuse that "a journalist does not reveal their source"…

I am not asking you for your "news source."

I am simply saying that a journalist cannot write every rumor that reaches their ears, and that you always, always do this.
