In my previous article, I spoke to you about a female politician, MHP Sancaktepe District Chair Arzu Karaalioğlu. This lady had chased away Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his entourage, who wanted to visit the election tent set up by the MHP, by saying, “Back off, back off… Go and ‘DEM’ with the terrorists.”
Today, I will talk about another female politician: İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener…
Yesterday, while she was visiting shopkeepers in Ankara’s Mamak district, a citizen named Fidan Çağlar approached her and, pointing to her clothes, asked with a tone of reproach.
I say “asked” because I watched the footage recorded by journalist colleagues:
“You see my clothes, I’m still wearing my old ones. At least don’t divide us into pieces… You took [votes] nicely during the parliamentary elections, so why are you splitting up now during the mayoral elections?
You supported Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu in the presidential election. Why aren’t you supporting them now? We are miserable.”

These words made Meral Akşener’s blood boil, and she began to speak angrily:
“Then don’t vote… Why are you miserable because of me? Am I the reason for the wear and tear on your clothes until now? We elected Mr. Mansur, why couldn’t he fix this then? Did we found this party for you? We founded this party for this nation. Don’t vote for us, brother, go support the Republican People’s Party and get them elected. You thank DEM, but you curse at us. Get out of here.”

So, what does this mean? Meral Akşener founded this party for the nation… If you dare to criticize her even a little, you are no longer considered one of the “nation.”
There you have it; this is the summary of democracy in Turkey…
If you vote for that politician, you are the nation…
If you don’t, “Get out of here…”
If you praise, all the smiles are for you…
If you criticize, “Get out of here…”
If you thank, you are a benefactor…
If you hold them accountable, “Get out of here…”
If you listen like a sheep, you are the best…
“You said this yesterday, today you are saying the exact opposite”—if you throw their faults in their faces; “Get out of here!”

Since you are going out into the streets, then you shouldn’t fight with those on the street!
The street is a mirror; you must accept this first…
Those on the street are not like the sycophants surrounding you; they will blurt out “The Emperor has no clothes” right to your face…
They won’t always greet you with praise and fake smiles… Every once in a while, they will slap you like this; you should take it and hold it high!
If a woman is pointing to the clothes on her back and complaining, you shouldn’t stand up to her by saying, “Am I the reason for the wear and tear on your dress?” On the contrary, you should know how to say, “I have been a politician for forty years, of course I am partly responsible for this. I apologize.”

Woman is grace.
Woman uses the language of peace, not the language of conflict.
That is why, as in every area of life, it is important for the number and effectiveness of women in politics to increase…
But not women like this!
One will chase people away like donkeys saying “Back off, back off,” and the other will not even consider you part of the nation and will scold you saying “Get out of here.”
