‘Command’ and narcissistic personality disorder…

Don't leave your news choices to an algorithm - decide for yourself what you read. Add 12punto to your preferred sources!

Someone who governs us and owes the seat they occupy to us said yesterday that they had given a “command” to a Minister regarding the construction of a station in a district.

Note carefully, not a “request.”

Not an “instruction”

Not even an “order”!

“Command”

Who are you, brother?

Are you a King, a Tsar?

Are those around you statesmen, or slaves?

What makes you different from us; is your skeleton made of gold, your hair of silk?

When you go to the bathroom, do diamonds trickle out of you?

By the way; what is a “command”?

I got bored… I stopped watching the news about the subject on television and went online.

I got stuck on an informative article on the Acıbadem Hayat Insurance website…

“Narcissist is a term used for individuals who have an inflated self-image. The origin of the word narcissist dates back to Greek mythology. In mythology, this story is summarized as follows:

‘Narcissus’ admires himself so much that one day, while looking at his reflection in a pool of water, he melts away and disappears due to his admiration for himself. Where Narcissus disappeared, a daffodil flower, whose Latin name is narcissus, appeared.

What Does Narcissist Mean?

A narcissistic person defines themselves as sufficient and powerful in almost every field in the outside world, and while they exhibit attitudes consistent with this, the real value they place on themselves in the background is quite fragile and they feel powerless.

While the person constantly exhibits conceited and arrogant behaviors, they always expect compliments from those around them.

Despite this, they do not care about the feelings of others at all and cannot empathize.

They see other people as objects to be manipulated.

What Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder is a psychological disorder in which a person thinks they are better than everyone else in many areas and loves/admires themselves the most. Many ordinary people may have narcissistic traits, but narcissistic personality disorder is a condition far beyond this. While narcissistic traits appear from time to time in ordinary people, in narcissistic personality disorder, this situation has spread to every area of life. The narcissistic traits of these individuals are noticeable in their lives, friendships, relationships with the opposite sex, and every stage of their daily lives.

Narcissistic personality disorder is seen much more frequently in men than in women. Men make up 75 percent of all cases. Narcissistic personality disorder, which is one of the 10 clinically accepted personality disorders, is seen in the society in the range of 1-5 percent.

Treatment of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

People living with narcissistic personality disorder mostly do not realize that they have this problem. However, the first and most important step to recovery is for the person to realize how their actions affect their own life and their communication with other people. For this reason, if you have relatives around you who show the symptoms we mentioned above, warning them in a gentle way that they are experiencing this problem will be an important support.”
