Didn't I sweep the floor with my hair for you?

Don't leave your news choices to an algorithm - decide for yourself what you read. Add 12punto to your preferred sources!

“I don't understand what you find in that woman. What does she have that I don't? Is she more beautiful than me? More charming? Smarter? More self-sacrificing?

Didn't I sweep the floor with my hair for you?

Wasn't I by your side during your difficult days?

Did I ever deny you anything you asked for?

Did I ever do something you didn't want even once?

I even fell out with my own family for you. I did everything so that our marriage wouldn't end, so that our home wouldn't fall apart.

I gave up all my values, what I knew to be right, my ideals, my friends.

Well, what are you doing? You are flirting with someone else right in front of my eyes. You are making plans for a happy life with her.

You are making promises, fulfilling her every wish.

You are bringing gifts, you are receiving gifts.

Didn't you say you didn't like her?

Didn't you say she was a troublemaker?

Didn't you say no one could destroy our happy home?

Because of you, I've even been called a pushover. Everyone makes fun of me because I didn't object to your impositions.

Tell me, what did I do to deserve this? Didn't I put you on a pedestal? Didn't I do everything you wanted and more?

Still, if you are determined to separate, if you perceive and define me as a barrier to your happiness, and if everyone supports you in this, then I will do my part. I will withdraw from your life with peace of mind!”

What you have read up to this point was the cry of a “spouse about to be abandoned” struggling to save an unhappy marriage…

Now, what you will read belongs to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who has unconditionally supported the AKP government, swallowed his past words for this cause, forgotten the insults he once hurled, and lost his credibility and respectability among a large segment of the public. Here is the statement made by the MHP leader following the meeting held the day before between CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and President Erdoğan:

“If the Nationalist Movement Party is perceived and defined as a barrier to the ordered atmosphere of normalization and softening, and if a broad consensus has formed on this matter, it is the duty of the MHP to fulfill the requirements of its responsibility with peace of mind.”

*

Now, the stance the other spouse will take is awaited with curiosity:

Either they will divorce and continue on their path alone or with another partner…

Or they will say, “You misunderstood me, my dear. How could I ever give up on you? I am nothing without you! No one can take your place. You are my only source of strength, energy, my only support in my most difficult days, my medicine when I am sick. Would I ever look at another flower while you are here! You are the sole owner of my heart. The rest is a lie”… In other words, they will U-turn!

In my opinion, a “U-turn”—that is, winning back the heart of the Devlet Bahçeli he has upset—is more likely…

Because for Bahçeli to make a decision to “divorce” would mean playing the early election card.

Even if the CHP prioritizes “normalization with the AKP,” it would be forced to call this “bluff” by the MHP.

Otherwise, both the CHP and Özgür Özel would vanish!

*

So, what will Erdoğan do, having lost Bahçeli’s support? Will he protect his power with Doğu Perinçek’s Vatan Party, with HÜDAPAR, or with the DSP, which has evolved into a freakish entity?

*

Although some say that the cards are being reshuffled in politics and all balances will change, I do not give even a 0.0001 percent chance that the MHP and AKP will part ways…

Because what is between them is not just a relationship of interest or love…

This relationship is officially a “criminal partnership.”

If you ask, “What are their crimes?” I would put “Attempting to jointly dismantle the Republic of Turkey, which is a secular, democratic, social state of law” at the very top of the list.

*

So, if this partnership ends…

Let’s continue with the example from the beginning of the article; if the marriage ends…

Both sides will end up before the “Supreme Court” (Yüce Divan)…

And the end of the story will not be at the police station, but in prison!
