Let me state it right at the beginning of this article: I am a CHP member in the tradition of Atatürk.
I have no affinity or sympathy for today's CHP, other than reluctantly casting my vote for them.
- The party that first made Ekmeleddin a candidate, then tried to put forward Abdullah Gül in subsequent elections, only to be rejected—interestingly enough—by its right-wing ally Meral Akşener...
- The party that, when dealing with Muharrem İnce, whom Atatürk had nominated for his seat, "Come here, Muharrem" did not even realize what it was doing while politically putting him in his place...
- The party that held numerous clandestine meetings with U.S. ambassadors in luxury hotels in Ankara and did not even feel the need to explain what was discussed at these meetings...
- The party that insults Atatürk and "I did not come to the CHP because I changed; on the contrary, I came to change the CHP" who had Mehmet Bekaroğlu, the man who said this, enter the Party Assembly via the "women's" quota and made him a Deputy Chairman...
- who has had Sezgin Tanrıkulu, a man whose alleged CIA ties are debated and who could not even get votes in his own village, elected by Istanbul's Kemalist voters for years...
- "It would be heartless not to witness and appreciate the successes of Fethullah Gülen, and not to acknowledge his rights. I am an admirer of Özal. I am definitely not a CHP member" who made the Fethullahist Faik Tunay, the man who said this, a CHP Member of Parliament...
- who refers to Tunceli as Dersim...
- who boasts about how great a religious figure his grandfather was...
- Who has now brought the country to the brink of a new constitutional referendum with a nonsensical move regarding the headscarf...
- Who abolished primary elections, filled the party with right-wingers, expelled cadres defending Atatürk's ideology, and denied them active roles...
- Who entered into a ridiculous alliance, handing over our votes to Ali Babacan and Ahmet Davutoğlu—the figures most responsible for the AKP governments—who don't even have a 1-2 percent vote potential...
- Who shows endless understanding and tolerance for every view and every segment of society, except for Atatürkists and true CHP members...
I have never supported Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team; I do not support them.
That is why I compare the relationship between the CHP and the Atatürkist electorate to an "unhappy marriage"...
Solely so that "the children are not left stranded," meaning "So that the country is not completely lost" an unhappy marriage that is just being dragged along...

It is very difficult to say, my friends; but this party is finished!
Because this party has turned into a party that does not implement Atatürk's principles and revolutions, consisting of one-quarter liberals, one-quarter religious conservatives, one-quarter separatists, and one-quarter social democrats!
The six arrows of this party have been broken by the Deniz Baykal and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu teams that have managed the party for the last 20 years.
This party even remained a spectator to the abolition of the 'Student Oath' and the erasure of Atatürk's name from airports, squares, and streets.
This party could not object to the purging of Atatürkist cadres from the judiciary, the police, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the media.
This party distanced itself from its true identity under the pretext of 'winning elections,' but it never won any elections.
***
The party's base is Kemalist, but it is unclear what the management staff is...
The base is republican, nationalist, populist, statist, secular, and revolutionary to the core... The management staff is afraid to even mention these terms...
The party base is living in hunger and poverty, while the executives are in the elevator business! By establishing or having private companies established, they arrange elevator maintenance contracts in municipalities sympathetic to them.
***
To tell you the truth, I was not this pessimistic until Sunday.
But while watching the Istanbul Provincial Congress on Sunday and listening to Cemal Canpolat, the candidate of the Alevis within the CHP and the Headquarters, I did not have a single shred of hope left for this party...
The man went ahead and called his own party members, his own comrades, and his fellow travelers 'dishonorable,' 'vile,' and 'unprincipled' due to the allegations brought against him...
***
I don't know about you, my friends, but I have no connection with this CHP, nor with this political language and method!
To be honest, I do not believe that Özgür Özel and his colleagues, who were part of this administration until the last election defeat, will return the CHP to its founding principles.
In my opinion, Özgür Özel is also a project...
A project to ensure the CHP's presidential seat is not captured by a true Kemalist!
***
I know; there will be those among you who get angry at me for these thoughts... I know them so well; they are no different from the AKP fanatics!
Haven't I been banned for years from the so-called opposition channels and newspapers that have been fed by the CHP's coffers because of these thoughts?
If your blood pressure has risen while reading this article, then don't read it, my friend...
Because this is just the beginning...
Until true Kemalist cadres who will save this country sit in the leadership seats of Atatürk's party, this pen will continue to write these things...
***
I claim that; if the CHP returns to its founding principles...
Meaning, if it stops making concessions to bigotry and stops just pinning on badges...
If it starts encouraging production instead of consumption...
If it re-tasks state institutions in strategic sectors to control the markets...
It should bring to power cadres worthy of their positions, not cronies, in the judiciary, police, education, health, civil service, foreign affairs, and the media...
It should implement an economic policy that protects and looks after the interests of the majority of the people, not the wealthy...
It should turn toward a dignified foreign policy...
It should break the chains in every field and be libertarian...
It would become the number one party in this country!
***
To this country and to us...
Not someone who says, 'I am the grandchild of Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani'...
We need leaders who will say, 'I am a defender of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's principles and revolutions'...
And of course; politicians who can embrace their comrades with heart, not those who insult them by calling them 'dishonorable'...
That is why the CHP has withered and reached this point...
***
I have no hope, my friends; lying does not suit us!
But there is one thing I know:
The seed beneath the soil has no hope either!
Yet... It is its destiny to emerge into the sunlight, sprout, and reach the harvest!
For now, we are each of us seeds beneath the ground...
Surely we, too, will sprout again!
Whether we want to or not...
This is our destiny!
