AKP’s 22 years in power have seen us suffer major losses in every field.
Education has officially reached the point of collapse. Public schools now only train imams. The system has been abandoned to private schools. Their annual fees start at 300 thousand liras per child and exceed 1 million liras.
***
There is a major collapse in healthcare, which was once touted as a great success. People are dying in their homes while trying to get an appointment through the central appointment system. Private hospitals are busy robbing insurance companies, and insurance companies are busy robbing a few hundred thousand well-off people…
***
Internal security has been surrendered to the mafia…
In terms of external security, we have become a sieve of a country… Our borders are officially like a sieve… Anyone who wants to, passes through.
***
The point we have reached in democracy is obvious. The entire country is surrendered to one man.
We are world leaders in freedoms! Of course, from the bottom…
***
As for the economy… We are world leaders in inflation and inequality in income distribution. While the public struggles in a spiral of hunger and poverty, 39.5 percent of all wealth in the country belongs to 1 percent of the population… Mind you, I am not talking about annual income; I am talking about wealth! The wealth of 71 percent of the public is less than 10 thousand dollars per capita! In other words, if you sold all the assets of approximately 60 million people down to their underwear, it wouldn't exceed 340 thousand liras!
I am not making these figures up; I took them all from Credit Suisse’s official report.
In the 22 years that have passed, the debts of both the public and private sectors have increased fourfold, fivefold, and in some items, nearly tenfold in dollar terms.
***
Shall I count more?
Corruption, for example…
This party, which came to power 22 years ago with the claim of ending the Three Ys—namely prohibitions (yasaklar), poverty (yoksulluk), and corruption (yolsuzluk)—has managed to place Turkey among the top ten countries in the world in corruption.
***
All respected institutions, primarily the Turkish Armed Forces, have largely lost the public's trust.
There is not a single institution or concept that these people have not touched and hollowed out, or turned into a cash cow in 22 years!
You might say, “Are you trying to lower morale?”
No… On the contrary:
Today, I am giving you the “magic formula” that will end all this hitting rock bottom in the country and start a total resurgence:
Let us fix the judiciary; all of this will be resolved within a few months!
***
The only reason for the erosion in all of these is that the judiciary has lost its independence and become a toy not just for the government, but for the powerful—that is, the rich, the mafia, and those in positions of authority!
It is the trampling of laws, the constitution, and even the revolutionary laws!
***
It is also wrong to abstract the problem by just saying “the judiciary”…
I am referring to all judges and prosecutors serving in the Court of First Instance, appellate courts, the Court of Accounts, the Council of State, the Court of Cassation, and the Constitutional Court.
The total number of them is around 18 thousand…
About 12 thousand are judges, and 6 thousand are prosecutors…
If these 18 thousand people did not surrender to the “order”…
If they only remained loyal to the oath they took to uphold “justice”…
If they put aside the fear of “Oh, I’ll be reassigned, oh, I’ll be dismissed, oh, my record will be ruined” and stopped “taking orders from someone” and exposed those who gave those orders and shamed them before the world…
If they could risk being unemployed for this cause when necessary…
If they could truly worry about their conscience rather than their wallets…
I claim that this country would have no economic problems, nor security issues…
We would break world records in a positive sense in education, healthcare, freedoms, and a transparent society.
All the institutions and concepts that have been hollowed out would regain their respectability.
***
That is why it is important for the AKP to go…
The AKP must go, and both judges and prosecutors must be freed from the great pressure upon them so that all of these can regain their health…
Well, can it not happen without the AKP going?
It cannot…
It hasn't happened for twenty-two years, and it won't happen again!
This cannot be done with cowardly judges and prosecutors who fear the power of the government, cannot protect judicial independence, and compromise on the principle of the rule of law; it just won't work!
***
Now, some judges and prosecutors will be angry with me…
Let them be as angry as they want!
This is the truth…
If my salary were enough, I would have grilled hearts sent to all of them from kebab restaurants. Because the country is in this state due to their lack of heart and their betrayal not just of the profession, but of the science of law!
Otherwise, could the President of this country come out and say to the lieutenants who took an oath with words upholding the first three articles of the Constitution, “Who are you brandishing those swords at?”
Ha; let me give the answer to that question too:
The President should watch that video again:
They are raising their swords for those who oppose secularism and the rule of law…
It is a pledge of allegiance to those values that judges and prosecutors do not protect; that is the oath they took!
Does it bother you, Mr. President?
