Skimpflation

I am grateful to President Erdoğan. Thanks to him, we learn something new every day. While talking about "Nas" (divine decree), we were introduced to brand new economic terms...

Lately, whenever I turn on a news channel, I see an economist trying to explain our current situation using terms that are hard to pronounce, or even funny.

You know how we thought for years that as a country, we had reached the level of professors emeritus in inflation and that there was nothing left for us to learn...

It turns out that wasn't the case!

It seems there are even types of chronic inflation!

Skimpflation...

Shrinkflation...

Greedflation!

I am sure many of you now think you are reading a piece of black humor that uses slang words.

This is definitely a serious article!

Don't just brush off skimpflation, for example; it is very important!

Even if it sounds a bit vulgar to say, it describes a vital situation for our economy.

If the price of a product you constantly buy from the market or bazaar remains the same but its quality drops, and you react to this by saying, "What kind of a skimp job is this, brother?"; well, that is called skimpflation!

If the price of the product remains the same but its packaging and weight become "cuter" every time, meaning it shrinks... Experts call this "shrinkflation"...

Then there are situations where the product is the same but the price has risen exorbitantly... We have known this as "black marketeering" for years, but the economic situation that creates it is called "greedflation"!

Previous governments had taught us about "stagflation" in the past, that is, high inflation experienced despite stagnation in the markets.

It was the fate of the AKP government and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to introduce our country and our noble nation to skimpflation.

These types of inflation are showing themselves in all markets today!

If you don't believe me, go to one of the three-letter chain markets and walk through the pasta, confectionery, soft drink, and detergent aisles... See with your own eyes how much our lives have become "cuter"...

Or witness how the three-ply toilet paper you always buy has been turned into two-ply in the same packaging...

However, do not try to go up to the cashier sister and act tough by saying, "What kind of a skimp job is this?" If you do, be prepared to get a good beating!

Because don't forget that it will take quite some time for our noble nation to get used to these concepts!

Inflation is already a result that shows how much the public is being "skimpflated" in the capitalist exploitation system!

How lucky a nation we are that we have the opportunity to not only learn but to live through these concepts, which none of the citizens in many developed European states will ever learn in their entire lives.

Every time we go to the bazaar, we get to skimp to our heart's content...

Why do we have such a privilege?

Because we have an "economist" President!

In short, don't get angry at skimpflation; may God protect us from worse...
