It is neither the cable car accident in Antalya, nor the war drums starting to beat between Israel and Iran, nor the preparations for the Extraordinary Congress of the fading IYI Party…

You must have heard it; the topic Turkey is talking about most on social media is Özgür Özel!

This top ranking is not about him making the CHP the leading party after 50 years!

It is not about the panic he has caused among the members of the government who have been running the country like their father’s farm for exactly 22 years…

The topic is him dyeing his hair, adopting a younger look, and getting Botox on his face!

They say, “First he had vocal cord surgery, now he will speak with a deeper voice… Then he started wearing contact lenses and ditched his glasses. And finally, he dyed his hair and got Botox. Does a real man dye his hair? Is this the man who will save the country?”

Well, what is it to you?

The vocal cords are his, the eyes are his, the hair is his, the forehead and cheeks are his…

He may have rightfully grown tired of his exhausted appearance after the election.

He may have wanted to see himself looking more vigorous and energetic when he looks in the mirror; what is wrong with that?

If it goes against your principles, then don’t dye your own hair, and that’s that!

And don’t bother trying to issue a religious fatwa, either! Because that door is closed, too… The Islamic religion allows both men and women to dye their hair.

What is left?

Mental health!

Don’t worry at all; even if all the psychiatrists in the country came together right now… and made the mental and spiritual health of all 75 million people a subject of research one by one…

Some, however, are only 50 years old, but they talk about “Change,” they talk about “Equality,” they talk about “Freedom,” they talk about “Justice,” they talk about “Democracy”… And what’s more, at this age, they convince half the country of everything they say…

Because their head is full. They offer hope. They carry expectations shrouded in the darkness of night toward the dawn…

Let him dye his hair if he wants…

Let him get Botox if he wants…

Let him get liposuction if he wants…

Let him wear contact lenses if he wants…

No one should be bothered by these things…

Because these are all private matters.

They only concern the owner…
