If a constitution in a country is murdered, and by that country's own elected officials at that…

If a high-level judicial institution like the Court of Cassation is made a tool for this…

If the Speaker of the Parliament finds the solution in fleeing to an Arab country under the guise of an official visit to avoid going down in history as the person who carried out this disgrace…

If the votes cast by hundreds of thousands of citizens are thrown into the trash by the deputies of this country…

The situation is unfortunately exactly this!

The constitution is dead…

It is also wrong to say it is dead; it has been murdered!

This order, which continued to struggle for life even though it had been riddled with holes many times until today, has officially ended!

The issue is not the stripping of Can Atalay’s parliamentary status…

I wish it were that simple.

The issue is the murder of the Republic of Turkey’s characteristic of being a “state of law”!

What happens if a state of law is murdered?

Even your name becomes a matter of debate!

There is no guarantee for anything you possess!

Those who govern you could divorce your wife or husband from you overnight, seize the money in your bank account, or abolish elections…

Your education, your expertise, your intelligence become worthless!

Your company can be shut down, your freedom of travel can be taken away, and your execution can even be demanded when you express your thoughts.

You will say, “Don’t exaggerate, be moderate, let them call you a mullah…”

You have always been moderate until today, and what happened?

Were you able to prevent yesterday’s result?

From this point on, what comes, comes!

The constitutional order has been murdered; the name of the order that replaces it is the paternal order…

They will sell it off like fathers…

They will lie like fathers…

They will use violence like fathers…

They will wipe away all our rights stemming from the constitution and from being both a human and a citizen, like fathers!

Yesterday, not only the constitution died; the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which Atatürk established in the early days of the War of Independence and kept running like clockwork, also died.
