The President's most important 'appointment' criterion!

Don't leave your news choices to an algorithm - decide for yourself what you read. Add 12punto to your preferred sources!

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has appointed Metin Kıratlı, the Head of Administrative Affairs at the Presidential Palace, to the vacant seat on the Constitutional Court (AYM).

So, who is this fellow?

Who else could he be; he is a name trusted enough by President Erdoğan to be entrusted with the entire administration and accounting of the Palace...

Furthermore, he is a staunch AKP supporter...

You might also remember him from a news story that made headlines just last week:

He had dined at a luxury restaurant with AKP Ankara Provincial Deputy Chairman Serkan Korkutata and paid exactly 168 thousand liras for a meal for two.

He also had an "access ban" issued on the same day for more than a hundred websites that published this news.

***

My concern is not Mr. Metin... If it isn't Ahmet, it's Mehmet; they are no different from each other anyway...

The newly selected member; whatever his duty in the Palace or the party is, he must do the same at the Constitutional Court! And now, Mr. Metin will fulfill this duty.

He will make decisions by raising and lowering his hand in line with the orders coming from the Palace on issues that the Constitutional Court will deliberate...

As they say; "Long live the fully independent judiciary and long live the rule of law!"

***

My real concern is something else...

Gerçek Gündem Editor-in-Chief Seyhan Avşar asked one of the people closest to the President about this appointment yesterday... She wanted to learn for which quality Mr. Metin was chosen... The answer she received was exactly as follows:

"Our President had been looking for a headscarved female candidate for the AYM membership for the last two months. However, it didn't happen. Because the member to be selected had to be a law school graduate and a high-level bureaucrat. If these conditions didn't exist, many headscarved female candidates could have been found by now. The name Metin Kıratlı was also on the agenda. But if a suitable candidate had been found, Kıratlı would not have been made a member..."

***

Go figure!

So, what does this mean; President Erdoğan searched for a "turbaned" woman for two months to appoint as a member to the most important legal institution of the Republic of Turkey...

According to the law, that member had to be both a legal expert and a high-level bureaucrat...

Lo and behold, such a person could not be found in the vast country of Turkey...

When that was the case, the Palace's Administrative Manager was assigned to manage the situation...

But this is not my concern either...

***

So; what is my concern?

I wonder to which other positions the great President made appointments based on the "headscarf criterion"?

That is it!

For example, were the female ministers in the cabinet brought to the head of major ministries not because of their education, expertise, or merit, but because they wear headscarves?

Was it determined this way for female AKP deputies?

I wonder if the President; within his authority...

The Head of MIT...

The President of Religious Affairs...

The Secretary General of the National Security Council...

The President of the State Supervisory Council...

The Head of the Defense Industry...

Deputy ministers...

Heads of presidential offices...

Heads of institutions and boards affiliated with the Presidency...

The General Manager of TRT...

The Governor and deputy governors of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey...

The Chief Prosecutor of the Court of Accounts...

Governors...

Ambassadors...

Members of RTÜK...

The President and members of the TMSF...

The President of ÖSYM...

The President of YÖK...

Rectors...

The President of AFAD...

The Head of the Revenue Administration...

The President of KOSGEB...

The President of the Atatürk Supreme Council of Culture, Language and History...

The President of TOKİ...

The President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office...

The Chairman and members of the Turkey Wealth Fund Board of Directors...

General managers of public institutions...

Did he appoint them according to this criterion?

Was it not the merit or skills of the people to be appointed that were looked at, but whether they or their spouses were turbaned?

Seyhan Avşar is an experienced journalist. I never believe she would write fake news.

Now there is one more task for her:

She should investigate those sitting in the "positions appointed by the president" that I listed above one by one and reveal how many of them or their spouses meet the "turban criterion"!

If the majority meets this criterion...

It is a pity for the young people who wear out their elbows in faculties...

After getting their diploma, they should go to a modest clothing store; and then to an AKP organization...

Done and dusted, mashallah!

***

I won't lie; it even pains me to joke about this!

Woe to the beautiful Republic of Turkey... What a woe!

***

By the way, I wish the Palace Administrative Manager, who was appointed to the Constitutional Court, "Good administration"!

We will watch his actions with interest!
