The 'Second Man's' historical nonsense!

When you read 'Second Man' in the headline, İsmet İnönü came to mind, didn't he?

One of the founders of the Republic of Turkey, our Second President, Atatürk's comrade-in-arms and fellow traveler in the cause…

I bow before him with respect, but… Of course, there were situations where he also talked nonsense or was forced to talk nonsense.

For instance, his decision to transition to a multi-party system before the right time as a result of the incredible pressure from Celal Bayar and Adnan Menderes…

Did Atatürk not know how to do this?

Could he not have added another arrow as the seventh arrow of the CHP to its principles?

Did he not try?

He knew, of course; he even tried…

But he saw that for this to happen, the public first needed to reach a certain level of education and culture and be freed from the influence of religious leaders, clerics, and zealots.

Unfortunately, İnönü could not withstand the pressure on this issue and, by transitioning a country whose people had not yet sufficiently benefited from modern education to a multi-party system, he perhaps became the number one person responsible for what we are experiencing today.

The 'Second Man' I am talking about is the person named Cevdet Yılmaz, who cannot even hold a candle to him in terms of statesmanship…

In other words, today's Vice President…

Yesterday evening, during the deliberations of the 12th Development Plan at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee, he answered questions regarding the migrant issue and said, “Turkey needs regular migration.”

As if the troubles caused by the millions of migrants in our country were not enough, he asked for more…

Apparently, the desire of our citizens to work in more challenging environments such as construction, manufacturing, and mining is declining…

There you have it; there is a need for foreign migrants to work in these fields…

He even presented his own proof:

“Recently, our Ankara Chamber of Industry President (Seyit Ardıç) came to me and said, ‘We are looking for 100 workers, we find 70, we cannot find 30.’ It is known to everyone that we cannot find shepherds in rural areas. The executives of the Petroleum Products Employers' Union came; they are looking for pump attendants to fill gas in vehicles at gas stations. They said, 'Send 10 thousand people tomorrow, let's start them at work, we cannot find them.'”

Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz; are you mocking us?

Don't you know that what those gentlemen who come to you and complain about not being able to find workers are looking for is not workers, but slaves?

They are looking for modern slaves who will work for half of the minimum wage determined by your government, and without insurance at that.

They are looking for wretches who are unorganized, incapable of defending their rights, have no concerns about workplace safety, and will be content with whatever is given to them…

And you, without investigating or inquiring, are trying to turn this coffeehouse chatter into a 'national policy' and explain it in Parliament…

Furthermore, you are overstepping your bounds and portraying the unemployed Turkish people as if they were 'lazy'!

Our people are lazy, our people do not work even when there is work; God's Afghan, Syrian, Pakistani, African are hardworking… Is that so?

For God's sake, go away!

If our people do not work, then what will you say to the millions who have to work even though they are retired and whom you even deprived of the 5 thousand lira Republic bonus…

Why are they working despite their advanced age then?

With these words of yours that praise the employment of workers illegally, without insurance, far below the minimum wage, and in places lacking workplace safety, you are planting a bomb in working life!

You are openly encouraging 'human trafficking' so that our children become even more unemployed, even hungrier, and even more destitute.

Anyone who does a little research will see and understand thanks to what superior qualifications you sit in that seat…

At least focus on just fulfilling your 'mission'…
