The state is the sole culprit for inflation!

There is a story that has been circulating on social media for two or three years; I don't know how much of it is true and how much is a product of imagination.

One day, when inflation in Argentina was competing with Turkey as usual, an Argentine shopkeeper increased egg prices by 100 percent...

An elderly woman who bought a carton of eggs every week couldn't believe her ears when she heard the new price of eggs. She asked for the reason:

“The wholesalers raised the prices, ma'am. As you know, there is inflation, so we naturally increased the prices.”

The elderly woman gently left the carton in her hand on the counter:

“Then let it be, I can live without eating eggs. As long as Argentina is not affected by this price hike.”

When the seller heard these words, he thought to himself, “What does it matter if you buy a carton of eggs or not?” He looked at the elderly woman with mocking eyes and smiled...

But somehow, these words of the woman spread from ear to ear in a very short time, and no one bought eggs that week...

Everyone was saying the same thing:

“I can live without eating eggs. As long as Argentina is not affected by this price hike!”

Egg producers did not take this attitude of the consumers seriously. They even continued to raise prices. Meanwhile, they started stocking the eggs they had in cold storage so they wouldn't spoil... The situation did not change in the following days, and since cold storage costs were added to the costs, the producers were increasing prices, but the entire Argentine public was insisting on not buying eggs...

As time passed, the egg boycott became such that all egg sellers in the country began to wave the white flag of bankruptcy...

The wholesalers followed them...

Farm owners began to go bankrupt rapidly because they could not get their money...

One day, they all regretted it and appeared on a television channel to apologize to the Argentine people...

The result still didn't change!

There was neither a strike nor a rebellion in the country, but the public was so united that no one accepted this apology and continued the egg boycott...

By the third month, the producers and sellers lowered egg prices to half of what they were before the hike...

As I said, I don't know if this story is true or not.

But whenever prices rise and inflation starts to break records in our country, this story is circulated on the internet.

Those who do this must think that similar actions in Turkey would “bring the money-hungry shopkeepers into line and lower inflation.”

However, even though the gentlemen responsible for the economy and President Erdoğan claim otherwise, the sole culprit for inflation in Turkey is not the shopkeepers or the producers...

In fact, they are also victims due to the prices that change day by day.

So, who is the real culprit?

The economist (!) President, who awakened the sleeping inflation monster with a single word by saying, “There is the Nas (religious decree), there is the Nas”...

The second culprit is the economic management of the period that put this fallacy into practice...

Everything is happening to us because of decisions and practices that are contrary to science.

That is why we are getting poorer by the day.

Here is an example for you:

A new decision was made over the weekend, and the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on cigarettes was reduced from 57 percent to 53.5 percent...

That's good, isn't it?

It is not...

Because the government simultaneously increased the fixed tax amount per pack from 5.7 liras to 7.8 liras.

Tax Expert Ozan Bingöl sat down and did the math, revealing this bitter truth:

For a pack of cigarettes with a retail price of 60 liras, 51.85...

For cigarettes at 70 liras, 56.91...

For cigarettes at 80 liras, 63.93 liras consist of taxes...

I claim; it is the same for alcohol...

For communication...

For fuel...

For natural gas...

The situation is no different...

In fact, our country is the country that collects the highest taxes in the world even on basic consumption and food items such as cheese, olives, milk, bread, vegetables, and fruits...

Don't just dismiss it as a block of cheese; it contains not only milk and rennet... It includes corporate tax, income tax, special consumption tax (ÖTV), value-added tax (KDV), employees' income tax, and social security premiums!

So, the person selling the egg might be guilty... But that applies to Argentina...

Our state is fleecing both the “egg seller” and us!

Because the tax system has turned into a system of plucking the goose in the coop.
