The voter is dead, the killers are known!

There is a little more than forty days left until the local elections. With the exception of a party or two and a few provinces and districts, the parties have announced their candidates, and the election race has officially begun.

So, are you ready for the elections?

Have you decided on the party or candidate you will vote for?

In my opinion, those living in metropolitan municipalities are a bit clearer on this issue... However, the situation is quite different in towns, districts, and provinces that do not have metropolitan municipalities!

I have experienced eight local government elections throughout my professional life.

I claim that I have never seen another election where the citizens were so “distant,” and where they were not even curious about the candidates.

Although the change in management at the CHP has provided a significant decrease in the number of voters inclined to “not vote,” the new management's reduction of the candidate selection method to a “I chose, so it is” logic has strengthened the “boycott” tendency once again.

Put Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir aside; go to the Aegean coasts where the CHP is strongest... You will not find a single CHP voter who is satisfied with the candidate presented.

Why, you ask?

Because, as always, “who should be the candidate” was not asked to the members or the voters.

These decisions were made in the Party Assembly, which has turned into a “party oligarchy,” based on “so-called polls” that are said to have been conducted but are not convincing at all.

I do not want to name districts or municipalities; but most of the candidates presented in places where the CHP is strong are contractors...

As for the race for Municipal Council memberships, it was generally joined by the “real estate agents” of the district or town...

The goal is clear:

To have a role in the looting of land!

We may not know from where we sit, but the citizens know those who are nominated in the place where they live.

And the common opinion is this:

“Whichever party is elected, everyone is after the rent...”

I am putting aside the metropolitan municipalities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Balıkesir, and Eskişehir, where the race will be fierce.

In the electoral districts outside of these, in my opinion, the local elections with the lowest turnout in history will be held!

Because the voter is resentful...

However, it is not just the opposition voter who is resentful; the voters who have voted for the government until today are also unhappy!

High inflation and the cost of living have become so unmanageable that even the “aid packages” or cash assistance of the ruling party have ceased to have the same impact as before.

The picture that emerges is clear:

This election will be an election for voters to “punish” the parties they have voted for until today...

Some parties, especially the IYI Party, will completely melt away...

The vote percentages of the CHP, AKP, and MHP will not change much, but since the turnout will be very low, there will be serious drops in the total number of votes these parties receive.

Yet, this dire picture does not even concern the political parties...

The AKP is again using the “power of being in government” openly, and with the words coming out of the mouth of its “number one.”

In the CHP, which could not realize its “primary election promise” despite the new management, a new army of resentful people is being created, as always.

The MHP finds “partial victories” sufficient with the logic of “let it be small, let it be ours.”

In short, it is clear that no good will come to the nation, the people, or democracy from these elections...

It will only be decided who or who will eat the cake...

And this makes the stomach of the citizen, who has become miserable due to poverty, turn!

As I said; if there is no big surprise in the next forty-something days, prepare for the lowest-pulse elections in history...

Because you killed the voter, gentlemen...

We are only waiting for you to recite a “Fatiha” behind us!
