“Where was the inflation supposed to fall? We continue to sink. There is a massive fire in the kitchen, in the bazaar, in the market. The dollar was 19 liras in April before the last election; today it is approaching 34 liras. Don’t be surprised if it hits 38 liras by election day if it continues at this speed.”

Was it me who was posing hand-in-hand with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan just a year ago to get him elected?
Was there no inflation back then?
Was the dollar exchange rate not wreaking havoc on the Turkish Lira?
Was the public very wealthy?
Do you know what the only difference is?

If you hadn't backed Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whom you are accusing today, in those elections, both the country’s democracy and its economy could have headed in a very different direction today.
At the very least, a ray of hope would have emerged.
