For a columnist who covers the daily agenda, not writing every day has its drawbacks. I write three days a week. Because of this, I either have to lag behind on some issues or I am unable to write about them at all, even though I find them very important.

But today, I will break this rule and, even at the cost of being "late," I will talk about a very important court decision.

As you know, the 1st Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation has upheld the total prison sentence of 8,658 years handed down to Adnan Oktar and the members of his criminal organization.

With this decision, the sentences given to the members of the organization have become final.

***

The crimes that the Court of Cassation is absolutely convinced were committed are:

sexual abuse, attempted intentional homicide, torture, obstruction of the right to education, deprivation of liberty, and unauthorized recording of personal data...

The prison sentence given to Adnan Oktar is 891 years...

But...

Because he was in a managerial position, he was also held responsible for the crimes of the other defendants, and his total sentence reached 8,658 years.

In addition, 13 suspects, including Ulviye Didem Ürer, Tarkan Yavaş, and Alev Babuna, were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 1,938 years to 2,758 years and 6 months each for committing the same crimes.

The other 59 defendants were sentenced to various prison terms ranging from 2.5 to 6 years for 'being a member of an organization established to commit crimes'.

You have already watched what I have described so far on news channels the other night or read about it on websites...

Some newspapers also covered this story in their pages yesterday.

I am writing what was not written the day before yesterday or yesterday... and what will never be written from now on:

You think that these men's lives are over; that they will remain in prison until they die!

You are mistaken...

I am writing this to leave a note for history :

If they manage not to die inside, all of these cultist bigots will regain their freedom within ten years at most...

Including Adnan Oktar, who was sentenced to 8,658 years in prison, they will all be saved.

Their deception and rape of innocent girls, their murder plots, their extortions, and all their acts of tyranny will go unpunished...

***

How will this happen?

Either the next stage of the judicial process, the General Assembly of Criminal Chambers of the Court of Cassation, will overturn this decision...

Or an amnesty law will be enacted within a few years...

On what basis do I claim this?

Because in Turkey, no prisoner other than leftists is kept in prison until they die!

They will either issue a general amnesty or a specific one...

Or the President will grant a pardon on health grounds!

Do you find what I have written too ambitious?

Believe me, I am not:

How many mafia bosses, accused of murder, inciting murder, smuggling, extortion, and robbery, and sentenced to thousands of years in prison, are actually behind bars today?

Alaettin Çakıcı, for example?

Did he not regain his freedom through the personal intervention of Devlet Bahçeli?

Was an amnesty law not enacted

solely to save him and certain other nationalists in his position?

Did thousands of convicts not benefit from those amnesty laws?

Didn't hundreds of those thousands return to prison after committing crimes again within just two years?

The name of this country is Turkey...

Its constitution says it is a "state of law," but here, only those who "murder the law"...

In other words, the mafia, those who exploit religion, money launderers who walk arm-in-arm with those in power, smugglers, human traffickers, and drug barons have the final say...

Remember, didn't AKP's constitutional law professor Burhan Kuzu struggle to save the Iranian drug smuggler Zindaşti?

In the end, didn't he achieve his goal?

Didn't the multi-trillionaire clown known as Reza Zarrab hand out suitcases full of bribes to the state's ministers and general managers? Didn't he shower judges, prosecutors, and high-ranking members of the judiciary with gifts? Didn't he turn the country into his father's farm?

***

Do not forget what I said; in this country, only political prisoners and opponents of the government are hanged or tortured; amnesties never apply to them...

Even those who commit 'pig-tie' murders or those who collectively burned people in Sivas are released by finding some loophole...

Only leftists and Kemalists are left to suffer miserably behind bars...

This rule has never changed since the day we transitioned to a multi-party system, that is, since the period when right-wingers have always seized power...

Whether it is the dictator of the right-wingers, their liberal, their conservative, or their religious figure...

This is the rule!

Yes; this has become a late agenda piece...

But please print it out and keep it.

If I am not alive on that day when this fickle bigot Adnan and his gang regain their freedom...

Please, in my place, shove it in the eyes of the frauds who say, 'There is justice and law in this country!'
