Bahçeli's 'terrorist leader' initiative is headed for the trash bin!...

With the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, Turkey has regained value in the eyes of the US and the EU.

Let us start with the EU, which the AKP government calls its “strategic goal.”

While Germany, Austria, and Greece have halted asylum applications from Syrians, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen—whose love for Turkey we are well aware of (!) —first held a phone call with Erdoğan. That was not enough; she plans to come to Ankara in the coming days.

The reason for the conversation is clear: they are looking to send the Syrians in EU countries to Turkey. The carrot, of course, will be to offer our country a role in the reconstruction of Syria when the day comes, along with financial support.

Before Leyen, Erdoğan's close friend, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, had already arrived. It was announced that the two leaders discussed conflicts in the Middle East, expectations for peace, and Hungarian-Turkish relations, in addition to Ukraine.

We remember why Orbán loves Erdoğan so much from the 2023 elections. While stating that he prayed hard for Erdoğan to win, he expressed the reason with these pithy words:

“With Mr. Erdoğan's re-election as president, a great burden was lifted from our shoulders... If Mr. Erdoğan had lost this election, it would have been a tragedy for us, I say this openly... If the leader of the united opposition, that is, Soros's man, had won the elections in Turkey, a few million refugees from Turkey would have set off for Europe immediately after the elections.”

BLINKEN IS ALSO COMING TO OUR DOORSTEP

Let us look at the US front, which the AKP also never stops calling our “strategic ally.”

Ankara has determined its goal after Assad. While Erdoğan himself announced that the time has come for “the heads of terrorist organizations like DAESH and PKK/PYD to be crushed as soon as possible,” he emphasized, without naming the US, that he “does not believe any power with reason and conscience will continue to work with terrorist organizations.”

As for the US, it is the same old story!...

Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin, who met with our Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and “reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation to prevent any risk to US forces and their partners and the mission to defeat ISIS,” also spoke during his visit to Japan about the PKK/YPG, which appears as the Syrian Democratic Forces, saying, “We have a good relationship with them and I think that will remain so.”

Likewise, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby, while talking about the fight against ISIS, reiterated that their partnership with the PKK/YPG would continue.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), who trains, equips, and protects the PKK/YPG, once again found himself alongside the terrorist organization.

Finally, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, while stating that the US has a “great relationship” with its counterparts in Turkey, said that they are in Syria only to fight against ISIS and that their contacts with the PKK/YPG on this matter continue.

With things as they are, there are those who are hopeful that US Secretary of State Blinken's visit to Turkey today will lead to the “elimination of PKK/YPG terror, or if that is not possible, its relocation to the south.”

It is said that the message, “Either you handle it or we will do what is necessary,” will be conveyed to the US “once again” very clearly.

But some pro-government media writers have already handled this business before Blinken even arrived!...

The button has been pressed to expel the PKK from our borders. It is just a matter of time. The PKK-terror corridor established by the US is collapsing... This is the reason for Blinken's hasty arrival... We are fed up with the US's lies... History is smiling upon us... We must take advantage of this conjuncture to root out the PKK from Syrian soil...

Anything else? Erdoğan's words mean “no matter what pressure the US exerts, the presence of the PKK/YPG will not be allowed”... The US or Israel no longer has the means to protect the PKK/YPG after this stage... The era of gains aimed at “stalling Turkey” by the US and its domestic partners is over...

Anything else? There is incredible panic within the US and the terrorist organization under its protection, whose games have been spoiled... Erdoğan's words are keeping them awake at night, etc...

If this is the situation, it is impossible not to be happy and proud!...

WHAT ABOUT THE ECONOMY AND THE SANCTIONS DECREE?

However, there is a small “but.”

Why was Operation Peace Spring, launched in October 2019 to sweep away the PKK, left unfinished?

Then-US President Trump, whose seat-taking next month is awaited with excitement, sent that famous letter to Erdoğan on the day the operation began, threatening, “We wouldn't want to be responsible for ruining the Turkish economy,” and saying, “Don't be a tough guy. Don't be a fool! I will call you later.”

Even though Erdoğan threw that letter in the trash, a few days later, with Trump's men coming to Ankara, the operation was “paused”—or according to the US, a “ceasefire” was achieved.

According to the agreement reached, the weapons in the hands of the PKK/YPG were to be collected within five days and the terrorists were to be moved 30 kilometers south of our borders.

Exactly 5 years have passed. You see, with Blinken's visit, there is still talk of “the elimination of the PKK/YPG, or if that is not possible, its relocation to the south.”

It is so obvious that the US will play for time again with talk of “transition period, stability of Syria, and the fight against ISIS.”

Well, if “we are fed up with the US's lies,” that is another matter. This would mean our economy has become strong enough that the US can no longer “ruin” it!...

Of course, there is also the “National Emergency” Decree, which was issued by Trump himself in 2019 under the “International Emergency Economic Powers Act” and has been extended every year since then. What does this decree, which is still in effect, say? It says the following:

“The situation in Syria, and in particular the actions of the Government of Turkey to conduct a military offensive into northeast Syria, undermines the campaign to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, endangers civilians, and threatens to undermine the peace, security, and stability in the region. For these reasons, the situation in the country continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.”

Nevertheless, let us not dampen the joy of the pro-government media. If, as they say, the “PKK-terror corridor” established by the US is collapsing, then the mission Bahçeli assigned to the terrorist leader in Imralı and the DEM Party has also gone to the trash bin... How nice, isn't it?!
