When the Gaza war began, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken toured the countries in the region twice, but he only came to Turkey after 1 month.

During that visit by Blinken on November 5-6, the pro-government media displayed the following attitudes:

They asked, “With what face will he be in Ankara?”...

It was emphasized that Washington had made maximum efforts to keep Turkey at a distance at the beginning of the process, but that Erdoğan had forced Blinken to come to him by announcing his preconditions, and “Erdoğan diplomacy” was applauded...

When Blinken arrived at Ankara Esenboğa Airport on the night of November 6, even though he was welcomed by Ambassador Yaprak Balkan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs for the Americas, and Deputy Governor of Ankara Namık Kemal Nazlı; the headline “Blinken was welcomed by the Deputy Governor of Ankara” was used, and it was stated that “It did not go unnoticed that Turkey welcomed Blinken without a high-level official present.” and it was reported that photographs of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Ubaida were hung along Blinken's route...

The “shocks” Blinken was subjected to did not end there!..

When he came to our Ministry of Foreign Affairs the next morning, he moved to kiss Hakan Fidan, but Fidan did not allow this “familiarity.” Comments were made such as, “We didn't let him kiss us, because they have kissed us enough in the last 75 years.”...

Attention was drawn to the trinket featuring the Crescent-Star and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which turned out to have been in the room since the term of the previous Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and it was explained that this was a message to Blinken that “The Al-Aqsa Mosque is under our protection”...

It was announced that Ankara would give 4 messages to Blinken in the form of “an immediate ceasefire, preventing the conflict from spreading to the region, a guarantor formula, and humanitarian aid,” and that issues such as Sweden's NATO membership and “the US shooting down a Turkish SİHA (UCAV) in Syria, the latest status of the F-16s, and the 100 billion dollar trade target” would be negotiated.

After the meeting, which was planned for half an hour but lasted 2.5 hours, it was reported that the two ministers had “discussed the Palestine-Israel issue from A to Z” and that “Hakan Fidan had spoken very clearly.”

What is the result in the process that has passed—other than a small prisoner exchange with a short-term ceasefire? The US continued to support Israel... Israel multiplied its massacres... The conflict began to spread to the region... And Turkey's role as a guarantor became a fairy tale!!

WHO MARTYRED OUR 12 SOLDIERS?

Let's summarize the US's “affection” for our country during the same period.

It allocated 156 million dollars to the PKK/YPG in the 2024 defense budget...

It declared Turkey a “threat” in Syria...

In return for the approval of Sweden's NATO membership by the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, they were content with the message that “Biden supports the F-16 sale”...

Again, while the Congress excuse was put forward for the F-16 sale, the Biden administration decided to sell weapons to Israel for the second time without obtaining Congressional approval, citing an “emergency.” In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by Blinken, regarding this, it was said; “The US is committed to Israel's security. Helping Israel develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability is vital to US national interests.”...

Meanwhile, with an agreement made quietly, the US extended its presence at Al-Udeid Air Base, the largest military base in the Middle East located in Qatar, for 10 years, but those in Ankara who consider Qatar a “brother” did not ask, “What are you doing?”...

Let's come to the most crucial and burning issue. According to what the pro-government media itself wrote; even the deaf sultan heard that the coordinates for the PKK attack that resulted in the martyrdom of our 12 soldiers in northern Iraq just 15 days ago, on December 22-23, were “given by the Mossad-CIA duo”!..

Cemil Ertem, one of the Chief Advisors to the President, also reacted to the US Embassy's message of condolence with the words, “Vile, genocidal state USA, isn't the terrorist organization PKK that you feed in your lap your bloody puppet? You will be held accountable for both the Turkish soldiers and the children of Gaza!”

WITH WHAT FACE DID HE COME?

The result?

Those in Ankara must not have heard what the deaf sultan heard, and our reaction must have only lasted 10-15 days, as Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan announced the good news that US Secretary of State Blinken would come to Turkey as his “guest” and gave the message that he would also meet with Erdoğan.

But this time, no one from the pro-government media asked, “With what face?”... On the contrary, an atmosphere of pride and joy was practically created.

Although the main target of Blinken's Gaza-themed visit was, of course, Sweden's NATO membership again, the pro-government media harped on “F-16 procurement and the fight against PKK terrorism.”

As for the “symbol” business that marked the November visit;

No one asked why Blinken came to Istanbul instead of Ankara...

When his plane landed at Istanbul Airport the night before last, even though Blinken was again welcomed by Ambassador Yaprak Balkan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs for the Americas, and Airport Civil Administrator İlker Haktankaçmaz, there was no boasting that “it was noteworthy that no high-level official welcomed him.” Only in an update made on the Yeni Şafak newspaper website at 23:47 was the headline “Blinken was welcomed by Istanbul airport civil administrator Haktankaçmaz” used...

What U-turns in two months, right?!

You may have heard; pro-Palestine groups demonstrated in front of his house the day before Blinken came to Istanbul, pouring red paint on his vehicle to represent the blood of the civilians who died, and shouting “war criminal.”
