Nurse Yıldız, a martyr's widow, to Bahçeli: 'You have grown old, just go now'

On the day the separatist terrorist organization PKK carried out an attack on TUSAŞ, the heart of our defense industry, murdering 5 of our people and injuring 22, the nephew of the terrorist leader, DEM Party MP Ömer Öcalan, was at İmralı.

Devlet Bahçeli, a partner in the People's Alliance, had said on Tuesday, “If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak in Parliament.” Thus, we have seen the first step taken and the isolation lifted.

Is it a surprise?

No. Abdülkadir Selvi, the voice of the AKP, kept writing about how Ömer Öcalan could be allowed to go to İmralı, alongside the “new page” initiative that began with Bahçeli shaking hands with DEM Party members at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Naturally, Selvi was also the first to announce yesterday that this visit had taken place before Ömer Öcalan himself.

But let us note this; while Abdülkadir Selvi brought up the possibility of granting a visitation permit to Ömer Öcalan as early as June 2022, he drew attention to the fact that “some were trying to hit the AKP and provoke the MHP over this,” while Bahçeli “did not give credit to such comments,” and emphasized that “this did not mean the start of a new solution process, but would only be a step toward eliminating an exploitation related to the terrorist leader.”

Indeed, that is true; in those days, Bahçeli was reacting to the actions carried out by the PKK in Sweden with the words, “The terrorism show was performed by projecting the photo of the İmralı monster and PKK rags onto state buildings with lights.” He was demanding that the death penalty, which was being considered for those who burn our forests, should cover “terror crimes” in addition to femicide and rape, saying, “If we do not do what is necessary, what will we say to 26-year-old Nurcan Karakaya, who was martyred by PKK terrorists, and her 11-month-old baby Bedirhan Mustafa, to the little ones shot in their cradles, when the day of divine reckoning arrives? What excuses will we be able to put forward?”

THE MAN THE AKP SAID 'MAY YOUR TONGUE WITHER'

Let us return to Ömer Öcalan's visit to İmralı; according to the message he brought from “Mr. Öcalan,” the terrorist leader said, “The isolation continues. If the conditions are met, I have the theoretical and practical power to pull this process from the ground of conflict and violence to a legal and political ground,” and sent his regards to everyone.

Let us recall who Ömer Öcalan is, who was allowed to go to İmralı after a long break.

In the “Kurdish elective course” campaign launched in 2022 under the leadership of the PKK-HDP, he spoke as follows:

This is an opportunity, but we are against their language being elective for 25 million Kurds... Kurdish has been crushed between the 4 states of the Middle East, a century of assimilation is in question... We have a program for Kurdish to become an official language and a language of education in the coming period.”

While reacting to the ongoing Operation Claw-Lock in northern Iraq under the roof of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, he also said, “The life of Turkey is not long either. Turkey will now come to a point of struggle with its own internal problems.”

Upon this, while the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Ömer Öcalan, AKP Erzurum MP İbrahim Aydemir gave this response:

“HDP's Ömer Öcalan, the nephew of the terrorist leader, says, 'The life of the Republic of Turkey is not long.' You will see that dream for a long time... May your tongue wither. I hope you will be miserable.”

In short, the curse of “May your tongue wither” did not hold; Ömer Öcalan became the first “tongue” of İmralı!..

BAHÇELİ MADE NURSE YILDIZ CRY THIS TIME

Reactions to Bahçeli inviting Öcalan to Parliament by calling him a “terrorist leader” continue to grow. We want to share a very meaningful one among them.

Nurse Yıldız called on the day Bahçeli made that statement, crying, and said, “What is happening? I am about to go crazy.”

Let us briefly introduce Nurse Yıldız to those who have forgotten or do not know.

29 years ago, on September 23, 1995, 25-year-old Petty Officer Murat Namdar was traveling from Erzincan, where he was serving, to Mersin Bozyazı with his 11-month-old son, his wife, his father, and his aunt to see his mother, whom he missed dearly. Their path was blocked at the exit of Erzincan. Those blocking the road were wearing military uniforms. His wife noticed something strange and said, “Murat, these are terrorists.” Petty Officer Murat held his wife's hands and replied, “Stay calm, my love, it's nothing.” They took Petty Officer Murat and murdered him before the eyes of his family.

That wife was nurse Yıldız Namdar.

Nurse Yıldız appeared before us once again in 1999 while the terrorist leader was being tried in İmralı. What she told made everyone, including the Presiding Judge Turgut Okyay, cry. Looking into the eyes of the terrorist leader at the hearing, she asked, “What did we do to you?” The terrorist leader, while breaking into a cold sweat, could only answer, “I share your pain.” That day, Nurse Yıldız's final words were, “I lost my dreams. We only want justice.”

Nurse Yıldız never gave up the struggle. She ran to the side of every martyr's family and participated in almost every anti-PKK protest. She was also in front of Parliament when the “PKK negotiation law” was being discussed in the Parliamentary Interior Commission as part of the famous opening-up process. She rebelled in tears and said such things...

For example; “They called it a solution process, meetings were held in Oslo. It was said that in this process, weapons would be laid down and the PKK would go abroad. Well, what happened? What ended? They say no blood has been shed for 9 months. How many children were kidnapped to the mountains in 9 months? How many people joined the PKK voluntarily after it was said that the PKK is your defender and Apo is your leader? Protests are held day and night every day, Molotov cocktails are thrown; buses and workplaces are burned, roads are blocked, IDs are checked, construction machinery is burned; your soldiers, police, and workers are kidnapped to the mountains, your Turkish flag is taken down from inside the military, thrown on the ground, your village guards receive threats because they stand with the state, executions are carried out... Despite this, you say terrorism has ended. For God's sake, are you mocking us?” she said.

She addressed the Prime Minister and the MPs as follows:

“You have no right to force the public to accept everything they do not want, despite the public. You have no right to sacrifice us just so you can hold office. You cannot remain silent; you are obliged to question on our behalf and voice the wrongs.”

She also slapped the media that supported the opening-up process:

“When the child killer Apo was captured, you were all by our side. You were crying with us, sharing our pain with us. You wanted the murderer of thousands of sons of the homeland to be punished at least as much as we did. Then what happened to you? You all forgot your martyrs and their surviving relatives.”

'LEAVE US ALONE, BAYRAKTAR WAS INSULTED'

What about the state of Nurse Yıldız, who called after Bahçeli's terrorist leader initiative? This time, she recorded her rebellion on video. We will summarize it; but you must watch it.

She began her words as follows:

“I am Nurse Yıldız, a martyr's widow. In 1995, my husband was martyred by terrorists before my eyes, and I fought against terrorism for years. In recent times, we have experienced a process where we thought our state was getting stronger, we were proud of our own production, Bayraktar, we had our unmanned aerial vehicles, our tanks were being produced, and we were doing good work in the defense industry. And I said that my state's soldiers, police, and security forces are now very strong, there is no terrorism left in our country, the terrorists are now across the border, and let us leave this work to our state and wait on the sidelines.”

She continued by saying:

However, in astonishment, a party in power, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, plus the CHP leader, started talking senselessly about the terrorist leader needing to come out, enter Parliament, and that he is needed for terrorism to end. The soldiers, police, security forces, and village guards of this country have sacrificed their lives, blood, and pieces of their bodies for the indivisible integrity of this country - and they still are. Their families have always been behind them. Even if they shed tears and suffered, they said, 'May the homeland be blessed.' While we were making these sacrifices, while thousands of young sons of the homeland were lying in the ground for years against terrorism, while we were thinking that terrorism had ended, while we had a very good defense industry, while we were proud of our Bayraktar worldwide, these discourses hurt our hearts. Let alone our hearts being hurt, I also think that Mr. Bayraktar was insulted. I mean, they are saying this; 'Mr. Bayraktar, you produced these, but we cannot even destroy a terrorist organization. I mean, you did something worldwide, we are producing tanks and such; national defense industry, our engineers, you are working, you are producing a lot of weapons; but this is useless. Because it doesn't work. It will only end if Apo comes out and enters Parliament. You are not needed at all in this country. You are struggling in vain.' That is what they mean. I think it is an insult to them. If terrorism was going to end when an Apo entered Parliament, why are so many sons of the homeland still fighting, why are we struggling for our defense industry, why are so many millions of money being poured out? We are the Republic of Turkey. If the state cannot cope with a tiny terrorist organization, how will we be able to fight other world countries worldwide? Are we a helpless nation? I was scared. Those at the head of my state are saying that we are helpless. What kind of thing is this? My mind cannot grasp it. Is there anyone who can? I did not know how to react. What is the use if we cry, protest, or struggle? We elected them and sent them to Parliament to represent us; to defend us and our country; to protect our country, our homeland, our nation, and our flag. Now the people there do not represent us. I am trying to understand what they represent and who they serve. Are you trying to make us kill each other? Do you know how much pain thousands of martyr's widows, martyr's children, mothers, fathers, and siblings are suffering? It is a shame, it is a shame. If you are not ashamed of us, be ashamed of those sons of the homeland lying in the ground. Right now, while you are sitting warmly in your homes in the snow and winter, there are soldiers and police fighting in the mountains, engaging in clashes. Be ashamed of them. Do not disrespect them. Bayraktar is working day and night. He is producing something for this country. We have heroes behind the scenes in the defense industry. Those engineer children are working day and night. I know that they are trying to do something for their country with heart and soul, without self-interest or gain. Please, while they are struggling without self-interest or gain, please do not sell our country for self-interest and gain. Enough is enough, enough. What does it mean to say 'The four articles will be changed'? How many sons of the homeland have died for years so that these four articles would not be changed? Why, for whom are you changing them, friends, brothers, people we see as great above? What are you trying to do? You have your bodyguards, your power, your money, you have everything; but the citizen has nothing. This citizen even said 'Yes' to hunger. It is a pity for this nation. Okay, I am not saying anything about the economy; but please, let us sleep comfortably in our homes, let us walk comfortably in our country now.”

THE CALL TO 'GO'

Finally, Nurse Yıldız made this call, saying, “Do whatever you want to me, I don't care.”:

“Why should I be enemies with others in my country? None of you have the right to do this to my friend, to my brother. If you say 'We cannot achieve this,' then enough is enough, my friend, you have grown old now. How old are you, go and rest a little. There are truly young people who can fight for this country; let them, open their paths. Leave the country to them. Because sometimes you really do not know what you are talking about. I apologize, do not take this as an insult; but you have truly grown old and you need to rest. Please.”

May there be mercy upon all our martyrs, especially those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack at TUSAŞ...
