The 'State Wisdom' That Is Sought But Never Found!..

After the "absolute nullity" bomb was dropped on the CHP's leadership, a debate about "state wisdom" began and continues.

What that "state wisdom" is, who it is, who it consists of, whether it is necessary, and whether the government is synonymous with the "state"—that is a separate issue; but a constant and enduring "state wisdom" is necessary, especially in foreign policy. Otherwise, the country's rights and interests will be lost for good.

Let us look at this "state wisdom" through a very recent example.

When Erdoğan went to Kazakhstan on May 13 to attend the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting and the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, he was greeted on the Presidential social media account with the words, "Welcome to the ancestral homeland."

Let us recall what happened during this visit.

Emphasizing that we have an "Enhanced Strategic Partnership" with Kazakhstan, Erdoğan said, "I hope we will make the coming period the Century of the Turkic World together... We are determined to build new bridges in the geography extending from the Eastern Mediterranean to the depths of Central Asia with the motto of 'unity in language, thought, and action.'"

The two countries issued a "Declaration of Eternal Friendship and Partnership" and signed 13 agreements in various fields.

The order established in the name of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi was presented to Erdoğan for the first time.

Erdoğan boasted about the TRNC's participation in the Organization of Turkic States Summit as an observer. The name of Israel's massacres, however, was never mentioned.

Why?

First; last year, when 5 member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States, including Kazakhstan, opened embassies in the Greek Cypriot administration and signed decisions stating that Turkey is an "occupier" there, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan could only say that "in principle, they prefer not to discuss family matters in public," and subsequently noted that "the Turkic world will continue to stand by the Turkish Cypriots as a whole" and that "they will patiently continue their policies on this issue."

Second; Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, whom Erdoğan calls his "dear brother," signed the Abraham Accords last November, which Trump is now imposing on us.

Kazakhstan's "Principled" Stance

21 days after Erdoğan, Tokayev had another guest the day before yesterday. That guest was the leader of the Greek Cypriot administration, Nikos Christodoulides.

While the pro-government media characterized Christodoulides' visit as a "move" against the discomfort felt over the images of TRNC President Tufan Erhürman at the Organization of Turkic States summit, it revealed the following bitter truths:

"Christodoulides launched a Kazakhstan campaign by using the EU's 12 billion Euro investment decision for Central Asian countries as blackmail material... The Greek-Greek Cypriot duo's blackmail game regarding the TRNC's presence in the Turkic world was staged last April at the summit held by the EU with 5 Central Asian states, 4 of which are Turkic. At the summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU would invest 12 billion Euros in the transport infrastructure of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. At the request of the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo, clauses from past UN resolutions condemning the declaration of the TRNC, which mean 'you will not recognize the TRNC,' were added to the agreement."

What happened during this visit by the Greek Cypriot leader? He traveled from Larnaca to Astana on the first direct flight, and it was decided to start scheduled flights between Kazakhstan and southern Cyprus... He signed numerous agreements... He opened the Greek Cypriot embassy in Astana... And he received a "friendship order" from Erdoğan's "dear brother" Tokayev.

So, what did they talk about?

Following the bilateral meeting and inter-delegation talks, Christodoulides explained that this visit, which is an important turning point since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, further advances the partnership based on mutual respect and political trust, and gave the following messages regarding the EU, which has caged the Turkic world with 12 billion Euros, and the disregard of the TRNC:

- "We exchanged views on the broader relationship between the EU and Kazakhstan. We acknowledge the increasing geopolitical importance of Central Asia and the very important role Kazakhstan plays both in the region and as a strategic partner of the EU. In this context, I emphasized that Cyprus strongly supports the further strengthening of this strategic partnership during its EU Council Presidency."

- "We reaffirmed our commitment to close cooperation with President Tokayev within the UN and other international organizations. Cyprus and Kazakhstan share a strong belief that international relations should be guided by full respect for the fundamental principles of international law, the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of states... I offer my sincere thanks for Kazakhstan's principled stance on the Cyprus issue and its consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus."

At the end of his speech, the Greek Cypriot leader did not forget to say, "I look forward to hosting you in Cyprus soon."

Middle Corridor from Kazakhstan to the Greek Cypriot Side

Of course, what matters to us is what the President of this important country of the Turkic world said.

Tokayev also drew attention to the "historical importance" of this first official visit by the Greek Cypriot leader and noted the following:

"When you were Foreign Minister in 2019, you came to our country and stated that you would act as a reliable friend and supporter of Kazakhstan in the European Union. Today, we can confidently say that we have achieved significant results. We opened embassies in our capitals. Direct flights were launched between the two countries, and a number of other important projects were implemented. Still, I believe we have sufficient potential to expand bilateral cooperation."

Anything else? Perhaps because he turned the Greek Cypriot side into a base for Israel, the US, and France, he reported that "Cyprus's prestige in the international arena has increased significantly" thanks to Christodoulides' efforts.

While presenting the "1st degree friendship order" to Christodoulides for his "significant contributions to the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Cyprus," he stated that the people of Kazakhstan recognize the Greek Cypriot leader as a "loyal friend and respected statesman at the international level" and said, "I wish you success for the benefit and prosperity of the friendly Cypriot people."

After emphasizing that the two countries aim to further strengthen integration, he invited his "Cypriot partners" to participate in the Trans-Caspian Corridor project and spoke as follows:

"Cyprus is a world-class maritime hub. There is a great opportunity to effectively combine Kazakhstan's land infrastructure with Cyprus's maritime infrastructure within the framework of the Middle Corridor. This step will pave the way for the establishment of a new multi-sectoral logistics system between the Central Asian region, the Caspian region, and the Mediterranean, and will also allow us to increase our mutual cooperation."

Finally—forget about recognition—he officially wiped the TRNC off the map with the following expressions:

"Both countries are firmly committed to the principle that all kinds of tension should be resolved through peaceful and diplomatic means. We agreed to work effectively within the framework of the UN, OSCE, and other international organizations... In Kazakhstan's view, all countries are obliged to strictly comply with the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law. Kazakhstan respects the territorial integrity of other countries and calls on all states of the world to prioritize this principle."

What we mean is; if only we could find and see this "state wisdom" that is powerful enough to handle things at home, first and foremost in the Turkic world!..

The "Mastermind's" Project

But there is a "deep" silence, and in contrast, there are the "mastermind's" projects!..

Didn't Trump's colonial governor Tom Barrack say the following 5-6 months ago?

"You will see cooperation between Turkey and Israel from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean... There are large fossil fuel resources in the Caspian Sea whose access to the Mediterranean is blocked for political reasons. How can these resources remain closed when Greece and Turkey are at the gateway to the Mediterranean?.. There cannot be an abscess in the middle of a healthy body. Every part of the body needs to heal. Cyprus plays a key role in this regard. That is why our hope is for Cyprus to be included in this process as well."

The trend shows that the time has come to abandon the policy of "there is no solution other than a two-state solution" and sit back at the negotiating table with the Greek Cypriot side.

Just look; it has even started to be discussed that the "Blue Homeland" bill regarding maritime jurisdiction areas in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, which they have been boasting about for weeks, was postponed to October due to alleged technical reasons, but in reality, because they do not want a new tension before the NATO Summit to be held on July 7-8, and that Greece has taken a "sigh of relief."

In short; the time for the nation's wisdom to step in has long since come and gone!..
