So Turkey Cannot Conduct an Operation Against the YPG/PYD... Because...

The US was up in arms after 3 soldiers were killed and over 40 were wounded in a drone attack on its base on the Jordan-Syria border.

President Biden stated that they know the attack was carried out by Iran-backed radical groups operating in Syria and Iraq, saying, “Have no doubt, we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing.” Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken made similar statements.

Senator Tom Cotton, an opposition Republican who reacted to the attack, called on Biden to launch a devastating military retaliation against Iran, emphasizing that anything less would “confirm that Biden is a coward unworthy of being commander-in-chief.”

Senator Lindsey Graham, whom we know from his efforts to rescue Pastor Brunson who was arrested in our country, also demanded that the Biden administration strike key targets inside Iranian territory, not just to avenge the killed soldiers but to prevent future attacks.

OUR OPPOSITION COULD NOT EVEN SAY “ISSUE A NOTE”

How quickly we forgot that we lost 22 martyrs in 21 days last month, right? The killers were clearly the US.

Forget about retaliation against the US; the government did not even mention the name of the killer. The main opposition party, the CHP, was preoccupied with whether or not to sign the declaration to be issued by the Parliament. Not a single person came out and said, “Let’s at least issue a diplomatic note to this US.” On top of that, they joined hands to fulfill the US's command and made Sweden a NATO member.

WHAT HAPPENED ON APRIL 7, 2023?

Following the martyrs we lost in northern Iraq, the government developed a rhetoric stating, “A 'Terroristan' will not be allowed to be established,” and for a while, they targeted Bafel Talabani, the head of the PUK in Sulaymaniyah, who has been patronizing the terrorist organization YPG/PYD in Syria. We will share an interesting revelation regarding how the US's relations with both Turkey and the terrorist organization are conducted in Syria.

But before that, we need to recall some events that took place last March and April.

In March, a helicopter crashed in northern Iraq, killing 7 people. It turned out that this helicopter belonged to the PKK-YPG and was transporting terrorists. The US used the term “hero” for the terrorists and wished “heartfelt” condolences to the terrorist ringleader Mazlum Kobani in Syria.

Ankara didn't even make a peep. Because at that time, it was busy making Finland a NATO member. Only the then-Presidential Spokesperson, now-MIT Chief İbrahim Kalın, stated that they would follow up on the helicopter incident, saying, “There is no sustainable side to the US supporting the terrorist organization. This not only poisons Turkey-US relations but also upsets the balances in Syria... This must be put to an end now. You cannot fight terrorism by supporting the Syrian branch of the PKK.” 17 days after the incident, it was decided to close Turkish airspace to flights to Sulaymaniyah Airport on the grounds of “the intensification of the PKK terrorist organization's activities in Sulaymaniyah, the terrorist organization's infiltration of the airport, and thus the threat to flight safety.”

23 days after the helicopter incident, a new event occurred on April 7. It was claimed that the convoy of terrorist ringleader Mazlum Kobani was targeted by an unidentified UCAV near Sulaymaniyah Airport and that he narrowly escaped.

The first to confirm the claim was the US Central Command (CENTCOM). CENTCOM Spokesperson Joe Buccino announced that there were three US soldiers in the convoy along with Mazlum Abdi during the attack, that there were no casualties, that they were investigating the attack, and said that “they strongly oppose any action that threatens the safety and security of US personnel.” While the terrorist organization pointed to Turkey for the operation, the Iraqi Presidency also called on Turkey to “take responsibility, apologize, and stop these attacks.”

Ankara did not officially claim the operation, but it did not remain silent either. First, the then-Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu made remarks such as, “We are on the heels of the terrorists everywhere... We are not going to sit idly by just because America wants to establish a terrorist state there... Let no one test the power of the Turkish state.” Then, the then-Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, while announcing that operations in Iraq and Syria would continue, attributed the fact that terrorists in Syria were running wild in Sulaymaniyah to the rivalry between Bafel Talabani and the Barzanis.

In the following days, it emerged what the terrorist ringleader and US soldiers were doing in Sulaymaniyah. “They held a meeting as partners of the Coalition to Defeat ISIS”!..

Even if Turkey had not carried out that operation, couldn't one have asked the US, “What were your soldiers doing next to the terrorist ringleader?” Unfortunately, it was not asked!..

And let us underline it again; unfortunately, Turkey is still a member of this coalition where the Americans hold meetings with the terrorist ringleader.

HOW DID THE TERRORIST RINGLEADER ESCAPE?

Of course, the pro-government media also wrote about the Sulaymaniyah incident. How?

For example, one of them explained that terrorist ringleader Mazlum Kobani was holding a “meeting with high-level PKK executives” there, and that US soldiers were waiting 100 meters away to ensure the security of the meeting, and questioned “how NATO ally the US provided protection for the PKK/YPG gathering.” Meanwhile, it reported that the US even called Ankara to hold them accountable, asking “How could you do this?” and that Ankara gave the message, “I suppose you know which PKK members were at that meeting. Since you are flying your own flag side-by-side with the terrorist organization in those lands, you already have enough information.”

What the Barzani media wrote was different from these. According to the claim, as soon as the PUK learned that Ankara had detected Mazlum Kobani was in Sulaymaniyah, they informed the US, and when the US told Ankara, “The convoy is ours,” the convoy was not directly targeted, but its vicinity was bombed.

One way or another; it is obvious that while Turkey had the opportunity to eliminate the terrorist ringleader, it preferred to send a message to the US or was prevented by the US!..

FIGHTING NOT WITH THE US, BUT WITH ITS TWEETS

If we come to the point after these reminders; as is known, the terrorist organization in Syria is trained and protected by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Colonel Joe Buccino, who was the spokesperson for this CENTCOM until 6 months ago and made the first statement after Mazlum Kobani narrowly escaped in the Sulaymaniyah operation, gave a long interview to the Barzani media recently. Here are the parts that concern Turkey:

He stated that the mission of US soldiers in Iraq and Syria was “ostensibly to fight against ISIS and ensure security,” and that they were helping “the Kurds and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to strengthen against ISIS”...

He answered the question, “Does Turkey's attacks in northern Syria weaken the US's allies in the fight against ISIS?” by saying, “We are serious about our commitment to the SDF... There is a real commitment to the SDF at the Pentagon.” He then made these interesting claims:

“When I was with US forces, the Turks were very opposed to us openly praising the SDF every time... We praised the SDF because they are our partners, we valued them as partners, but the Turks would contact us through the Turkish embassy and make requests like, 'Can you delete this tweet?' or 'Can you remove these words of the US Central Command?'... I remember at one point the State Department told us to stop making statements about the SDF.”

Former Spokesperson Joe Buccino also responded to the question, “Does the US have any diplomatic effort to encourage Turkey to take a more moderate stance against the SDF?” as follows:

“I think their protection against this is the presence of American troops within the SDF. The Turks know this. When they attack the SDF, they cannot kill an American, an American soldier. Because that would be a disaster for Turkey.”

Yes, we knew that there were American soldiers inside the YPG/PYD terrorist organization disguised as the SDF. Didn't they shoot down our UCAV in Syria at the beginning of October for this very reason?

It seems that the US told Turkey before Iran that “The death of our soldier is our red line,” and as seen in both the Sulaymaniyah incident and the UCAV example, our side has taken this into account.

But can terrorism end and the establishment of a “terroristan” be prevented this way?!
