Aydın Ünal, a former speechwriter for Erdoğan and a former AKP deputy, defended the operation to dismantle the CHP so vigorously that it would be appropriate to say, "he does not see the log in his own eye."
In summary, Ünal decreed the following:
"It is very clear that a new Turkey is being established. In this Turkey, there will be no playing field for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Özgür Özel, Ümit Özdağ, Cübbeli Ahmet, the PKK, FETÖ, and their likes. Puppets with strings pulled from abroad are being liquidated one by one. A Turkey without polarization, fragmentation, or tension, where the government is more scrutinized and the opposition provides solid opposition, is coming. Whatever happens, it will happen internally, with internal dynamics."
"At the very least, those who engage in corruption, those who walk the path with the support of Germany, England, and Israel, will be separated from the CHP. In other words, the CHP's separation from FETÖ already means this. FETÖ means Israel. If it is separating from FETÖ, it means the CHP is casting out the Israel within it. I see this as a purification and a beneficial initiative for the sake of Turkish politics."
Since the main criterion has been determined quite rightly and correctly as the "issue of being a puppet of foreign powers or not," let us look at the government before the opposition.
What Love Is This... What Audacity
A few days ago, an Israeli journalist asked Trump, Israel's errand boy, "Erdoğan continues to threaten Israel. Do you think there is a possibility of a conflict between Israel and Turkey?" After explaining how much he loves Erdoğan and what an extraordinary leader he is, Trump gave exactly this answer:
"I haven't heard anything like that. If I had, I would call him and make sure everything was okay. I don't think something like that would happen with Turkey; at least not while I am president. Because he respects me, and I respect him. Beyond that, we have a good friendship."
It is unknown what İbrahim Karagül, who issues a mobilization order against Israel in almost every article he writes, thinks, but first let us ask these questions:
- What kind of business is it to constantly receive praise from a vile, murderous, thieving, pirate of a man like Trump and to be proud of it?..
- If Trump were to shower Özgür Özel with such love, would the government and its media be proud of that too?..
- While Erdoğan, who announced two years ago that Israel's next target is Turkey, said at his group meeting three days ago, "We are well aware of what the ultimate goal of the 'Promised Land' delusion is. With God's permission, we will never allow this," how can Trump be so sure that nothing will happen, at least during his term?..
- And furthermore, if he were to hear such a thing, what would he say when he calls Erdoğan; would he say something like, "Be smart, don't be a fool, I will ruin your economy"? Or would he make a request to "Please don't attack Israel," and would Erdoğan waive national security for Trump's sake?..
When it falls to the "local and national" to hold them accountable by asking "what is this audacity," what happened?
The media, the government's biggest supporter, emphasized that Trump "did not fall for the perception of the Israeli media." In other words, it cared about Trump's love for Erdoğan but ignored the part that meant "Turkey is under my control."
Ahmet Hakan, who "does what is necessary" from his column, was also proud of Trump "praising Erdoğan for the millionth time" and rejoiced, saying, "What a beautiful disappointment the Israeli journalist is experiencing."
While Turkey Is Surrounded on All Sides
Let us also talk about the other sieges that have been kept off the agenda thanks to the efforts to declare the CHP "un-national" and bring it into "line" with court decisions.
As is known, our brother state Kazakhstan recognized the Greek Cypriot administration. Afterward, Greek leader Nikos Christodoulides went to Kazakhstan, received a "friendship medal," and Kazakhstan erased the TRNC once again. The Greek offensive was not limited to this; Foreign Minister Kombos also toured Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Even two writers for Yeni Şafak, Prof. Süleyman Seyfi Öğün, who was awarded the Presidential Grand Prize for Culture and Arts last year, and Yusuf Kaplan, reacted to this expansion policy of the US-EU-Israel, but Ankara, which claims to be "establishing the Century of the Turkic World," could not even utter a "peep."
Excuse me, something did happen; Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, who went to Kazakhstan for the 9th Meeting of Ministers of Education of the Organization of Turkic States, while calling for joint steps in the field of artificial intelligence, gave the good news that with the regulation made in the curriculum, the expression "Central Asia" in textbooks was removed and "Turkestan" began to be used instead!..
Let us continue with Cyprus. Five days ago, the Greek Cypriot side and France signed a military cooperation agreement that includes the permanent stationing of French soldiers on the Island. This was clearly contrary to the Treaty of Guarantee, to which Turkey is a party along with England and Greece. Although TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted strongly, neither Ankara nor Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, who dreams of "being the Governor of Jerusalem for a day" and who happened to be in the TRNC exactly these days, could even say "It is null and void."
Meanwhile, as news that Erdoğan has given the green light to negotiations in Cyprus has begun to appear in the Greek media, fortunately, our Ministry of National Defense reported the day before yesterday that "provocations aimed at destabilizing and increasing tension in the Eastern Mediterranean are being closely monitored," and stated, "The Turkish Armed Forces have the power and determination to give the harshest response to hostile attitudes that threaten the security of Turkish Cypriots."
Who Killed Our Fisherman? Explaining Was "Not Appropriate"
Let us go out to the Black Sea. A week ago, our fisherman Cüneyt Varlık was killed and 4 people were injured in an attack on a Turkish fishing boat west of Crimea.
Russia's Ambassador to Ankara, Sergey Vershinin, pointed to Ukraine, and Ukraine remained silent. While Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan did not make a sound, Ministry sources were content to state that "the necessary messages have been conveyed to all parties through military and diplomatic channels."
The most interesting statement came from Hulusi Akar, Chairman of the TBMM National Defense Commission, who served as Chief of General Staff and Minister of National Defense until recently. When asked who carried out the attack, Akar replied, "It is being worked on, it is not very appropriate to explain it now."
CHP's Utku Çakırözer also reacted in Parliament, asking, "Not a condemnation, not a warning... Who did it, why did they do it?" and asked, "Who are you afraid of, who are you hesitant about?"
Our fisherman has been killed, but it is clear that they do not want to upset the US-EU, who stand behind Ukraine!..
Also look at Greece; when it turned out that the explosive-laden unmanned surface vehicle (USV) found in the Ionian Sea in May belonged to Ukraine, they made them apologize.
When Does the State Stand Up?
Let us not do any more injustice to our "local and national" government and report when and how it stands up.
Whenever Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reacted to Erdoğan because of his group speech on Wednesday, the entire state, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to RTÜK, officially stood up and became a shield for Erdoğan.
Tom Barrack, the colonial governor of Trump, whom the "un-national" CHP's elected chairman Özgür Özel declared "persona non grata," was with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan yesterday; after stating that they had "a productive meeting," he said, "As strong allies sharing many common goals, the US-Turkey partnership is producing concrete results."
Do not worry, Mr. Barrack; we know, see, and experience those "concrete results" very well, not only in foreign policy but also in domestic policy!..
