Who Was the First to Go to the Tuzla Infantry School After the Atatürk Photo Incident?

We have literally been made dizzy by the agenda. We are spinning from watching what is happening, and we don't know where to look.

Let us discuss the latest developments in the Tuzla Infantry School investigation, both for the sake of follow-up and because the pro-government media has been framing the reactions to recent events as “preparing the ground for a coup” and inevitably linking the subject to that incident.

You know the incident. It was reported that at the November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Ceremony at this school, a lieutenant, who was alleged to be a “cultist,” refused to pin on an Atatürk photograph, which subsequently led to arguments that escalated into a fight.

Following the pro-government media's attempt to frame this incident as a “lieutenant junta,” it was announced that the 2 lieutenants who allegedly refused to pin on the Atatürk photo and stood by him, along with the 4 lieutenants who reacted to them, were removed from the school, and subsequently, all of these lieutenants were referred to the Land Forces Command (KKK) High Disciplinary Board with a request for their dismissal from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).

Three days ago, we wrote that the KKK High Disciplinary Board (YDK) would meet on January 18 to decide the fate of the lieutenants.

3 LIEUTENANTS WILL NOT ATTEND THE YDK

Now, let us share a new piece of information we have obtained.

The 4 lieutenants who reacted to the failure to pin on the Atatürk photo and their lawyers will attend the meeting on January 18 to present their oral defense.

The other 3 lieutenants and their lawyers will not attend the YDK meeting and will suffice with submitting a written defense.

REASON: “THE DECISION IS ALREADY MADE”

Naturally, we investigated the reason for this stance. The justifications voiced by the close circle of the 3 lieutenants are as follows:

“The process was conducted in such a biased, one-sided, and irresponsible manner that we have no trust in the YDK. It is acting as if it were a court. We do not see the YDK as independent or impartial. They have no will of their own. The Ministry of National Defense has definitely given instructions. Therefore, we do not believe they will make a fair and equitable decision. Let them make their own decision. It appears they will issue a dismissal penalty from the TSK. However, it will not end here. Of course, a cancellation lawsuit will be filed against this decision. We believe we will find better interlocutors in the administrative courts.”

THE TARGETED NAME

The close circle of the 3 lieutenants has other allegations as well.

They emphasize that beyond proving minute-by-minute what happened at the Tuzla Infantry School on November 10 and 13, they will also uncover certain events from the past 5 years.

They specifically accuse the Rector of the National Defense University, Prof. Erhan Afyoncu, and the investigation committee, stating the following:

“As soon as the incident on November 10 was heard, Erhan Afyoncu came to the school and scolded the lieutenant who allegedly refused to pin on the Atatürk photo and his friends for 10-15 minutes, asking, 'Why didn't you pin it on?' Then he gathered the other lieutenants and gave a speech saying, 'Don't worry, we protect Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.' The first investigation committee acted entirely in accordance with the wishes of the 'aggressive' group. Erhan Afyoncu also intervened from the outside. There are rumors that the second committee, headed by a general, went to see Erhan Afyoncu after the investigation was completed.”

Let us also note that the 3 lieutenants and their lawyers are preparing to file a criminal complaint against Rector Erhan Afyoncu and the investigation committee on charges of “concealing a crime and abuse of office.”

One final note:

We had previously written that the team of retired general Adnan Tanrıverdi, the founder of SADAT, also blamed the TSK command echelon as well as National Defense University Rector Prof. Afyoncu.

The allegation is that the real mobilization occurred after the news titled “Lieutenant Junta” in the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, and that Prof. Afyoncu wanted to meet with the newspaper's owner, Ahmet Albayrak, but Albayrak refused!...
