Will the military guesthouse ban end our migrant problem?

A large number of MOSSAD agents have been captured in our country, and a series of terrorist acts have been carried out in recent weeks.

One of those terrorist acts targeted the Santa Maria Church in Istanbul's Sarıyer district. It was announced that those who carried out this attack, in which 1 person lost their life, were linked to the Khorasan branch of ISIS.

The pro-government media wrote that while a large number of terrorists, including ISIS leaders, were neutralized in operations carried out by the MIT in cooperation with the General Directorate of Security both domestically and in Syria over the last 3 years, a major blow was dealt to the organization's structure in Turkey.

Interesting information was provided about those detained after the Santa Maria Church attack; eight of the 9 suspects were foreign nationals, three of whom had obtained Turkish citizenship rights, while two held temporary residence permits. The remaining three had neither citizenship nor temporary residence rights. Furthermore, it was revealed that ISIS has mosques and madrasas operating in Turkey.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that in the “Kafes-35” operation, which was carried out simultaneously in 7 provinces following the church attack, 34 foreign ISIS members sought by Interpol with a red notice were captured. These provinces were Istanbul, Kocaeli, Yalova, Kayseri, Bursa, Düzce, and Yozgat.

What else has come to light regarding the ISIS structure in our country?

ISIS, which declared a so-called “caliphate” in 2014, included Turkey among its so-called “provinces” in 2019...

According to official figures; from 2014 to the end of 2023, 21 thousand 772 people were detained, 6 thousand 21 of whom were arrested...

Again, in this 10-year period, judicial proceedings were initiated against 38 thousand 473 people. While judicial control was applied to approximately 4 thousand people, prosecutions were ongoing for 2 thousand 264 people...

But currently, there are only 1 thousand 54 ISIS members in prisons...

In short; it has been understood once again how Turkey has turned into a thoroughfare.

According to the government's staunch pens, the reason for this picture was again the “mastermind”... Their goal was “to destabilize Turkey and return it to the 90s”... However, “Turkey was no longer the old Turkey” and “they would not succeed”...

Fair enough; but who was it that left the country's doors and windows so wide open, creating this opportunity for the “mastermind”?.. Which party was governing the country while terrorists and MOSSAD agents were spreading out and running wild all over the country?

Experts once again pointed to the source of the problem, word for word, saying, “If we do not take measures regarding asylum seekers as soon as possible, we will begin to feel the consequences as a much more serious internal security problem in the coming decades.” and “Illegal migrants and asylum seekers are potential human resources for foreign terrorist organizations in our country.”

Finally, Zafer Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ claimed that ISIS had moved its headquarters to Turkey and voiced the following chilling allegations:

“The primary target for ISIS is not Syria and Iraq. ISIS has now been tasked by its boss to create chaos in Turkey, and it is currently doing the infrastructure work for this... 1,000 to 1,250 people are coming to Turkey from abroad every day... ISIS has safe houses, a safe network, and secret armories in Turkey. They are waiting for the button to be pressed... If there were not 7 million asylum seekers and illegal migrants in Turkey, could it have moved its ISIS headquarters in Syria to Turkey?.. ISIS's actions have not ended. In fact, they haven't even started yet. They are in the planning phase... The aid the US has provided to the YPG is not for overthrowing the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, but aid carried out so that the YPG can start a major uprising by entering Southeastern Anatolia when Turkey is stirred up through ISIS in the future.”

COULD THE US HAVE BROUGHT THEM TO TURKEY

Speaking of the ISIS Khorasan group; one cannot help but recall some statements by the previous Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

In 2021, when the US handed Afghanistan over to the Taliban, he referred to Khorasan while talking about the terror risk there and explained the following:

“The responsibility for there being so many ISIS terrorists in Afghanistan lies with those who support a separatist understanding or policy there by claiming to fight against the so-called ISIS, especially in the east and northeast of Syria. In other words, they say they are fighting against the so-called ISIS, but they took some of these ISIS terrorists and sent them from Syria to Afghanistan. As a result, ISIS is there, ISIS Khorasan is there.”

Continuing, while touching upon the migrations that started in Afghanistan, he stated that some of those who entered Iran came to us, and that they gave the necessary suggestions to Iran to take measures so that Afghans would not cross into our country, saying, “However, there are measures we have taken together with our gendarmerie, our security forces, our Ministry of Interior, our soldiers at the borders. On one hand, the construction of walls here, on the other hand, other additional measures.”

In January 2023, he also provided the following information about the then US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who blamed Turkey in his book for the fight against ISIS:

“While we were clearing the north of Syria of ISIS terrorists, the US, during Pompeo's term, together with the YPG/PKK, first put the ISIS members on buses and then on planes and sent them to Afghanistan.”

One cannot help but ask; are there any of those ISIS members they put on buses and planes that they left in our country?!

THE REASON FOR THE BAN IS TALKING ABOUT THE BORDER

We will connect the topic to this point.

You may remember; the Ministry of National Defense imposed a ban on retired Colonel Orkun Özeller from entering TSK social facilities in recent months.

We know Özeller from when he was serving at Incirlik Air Base in 2017, for rejecting the medal the US wanted to give him for his outstanding success in the fight against ISIS, drawing attention to the US-YPG relationship and leaving the ceremony.

Afterwards, he retired at his own request in 2021. In the book he wrote titled “İncirlik Ağacı” (Incirlik Tree), he explained what the Americans were doing at this base. Eventually, he joined the IYI Party and devoted his time to drawing attention to the asylum seeker problem. To this end, he also conducted inspections at our borders.

Finally, in September, he went to the Iranian border with IYI Party Bursa Deputy Selçuk Türkoğlu and shared his observations there with the public. In summary, what he said was:

“Is the height of the walls at the border sufficient? Places without walls have turned into highways... If the soldier wants, not even a bird can fly... Iran does not interfere with the crossings... For our survival, the border must be mined.”

The military guesthouse ban came right after this. Before filing a lawsuit for the cancellation of the decision in question, he wrote a letter to CİMER and asked for the reason for the ban. According to the answer given, the reason was the violation of Article 664 of the TSK Internal Service Regulation, in short; “making statements about the duties and duty stations he was in during his active duty period without being given a special task.”

Özeller filed a lawsuit in the Administrative Court after this answer. The court also requested a defense from the Ministry of National Defense.

In the response stamped “secret” sent by the Ministry of National Defense, it was reported that “the process was initiated because he made statements about the duties and duty stations he was in during his active duty period and damaged the moral personality of the TSK,” and some of Özeller's interviews were attached to it.

Özeller, who learned with this answer that he had been banned from entering TSK facilities for 5 years starting from August 21, 2023, emphasized that, contrary to the Ministry of National Defense's claim, he had never served in the Van region, where the Iranian border is, during his active duty, and then noted the following:

“I am not the first to voice the issues I expressed; everyone is saying it. Doesn't the fact that I entered the border line and no guard prevented this show that there is a problem at the borders? While millions of illegal entries are being made, the TSK is not ashamed of this, but is it ashamed when Orkun Özeller says it?”

On the other hand, Özeller believes that the real reason for the ban is not this, but the reaction he showed to the Americans at Incirlik, which is another matter.

Final word: if this grave problem that our country is faced with is to end, let not only Özeller's mouth be locked, but all of ours!..
