In January 1981, the US intelligence agency, the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), was told to do something about the Libyan dictator Gaddafi.
Following this, the CIA decided to conduct its Libya operations through Chad, a country that shares a border with Libya. The administration of this most isolated and poorest country in Africa was to be brought under control for this purpose.
For this, Habré was chosen, who had fallen out with the administration while serving as Chad's Minister of Defense and had crossed into Western Sudan with two thousand fighters to act as an agent. The official US policy was aimed at achieving reconciliation between the conflicting factions, but the reality was entirely different.
The US supported Habré simply because he was an enemy of Gaddafi and ensured he seized power in Chad in 1982. Yet, the American public was unaware of the existence of a country called Chad. (1)
The American thinker Noam Chomsky once said, “The general public does not know what is happening. They don't even know that they don't know.” He was very right...
BLOODY AUTUMN STORM
The US failed to topple Libyan leader Gaddafi in 1982. However, within the scope of the “Greater Middle East Project,” it reached its goal 30 years later in 2011 with the “Arab Spring,” or in reality, the “Bloody Autumn” storm. It both toppled Gaddafi and succeeded in tearing Libya apart. Now, there is a fragmented Libya where civil war reigns.
In a 2019 interview with CBC NEWS TV, then-US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would say regarding Gaddafi, who was killed eight years prior, “We came, we saw, he died.”
These words appear in a letter written by Julius Caesar (100 BC–44 BC) to the Roman Senate describing his victory at the Battle of Zela. “Veni, vidi, vici,” meaning “I came, I saw, I conquered,” Caesar said in his letter... Clinton was clearly inspired by Caesar... The US, unfortunately with the participation of Turkey, and with NATO and some other countries behind it, had toppled Gaddafi and gifted a fragmented Libya to the world. Just as it did in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria...
The so-called “Arab Spring,” in reality the “Bloody Autumn” storm, toppled Libyan leader Gaddafi in 2011. On March 19, 2011, France, the UK, and the US began airstrikes in Libya. On April 26, 2011, NATO conducted airstrikes on targets loyal to Gaddafi.
While the motion had not yet passed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Turkey contributed to NATO for the intervention in Libya with four frigates, one auxiliary ship, and one submarine. Turkey, which has never taken sides in a civil war in its history, found itself on the side of the US, France, and the UK, which aimed to control energy resources and fragment Libya. Libya, which has been experiencing civil war since 2011, has turned into a field of power struggle for states.
Turkey also cooperated with the US in Syria. One of the outcomes was the presence of the PKK/PYD terrorist organization, which reached the strength of a statelet in Syria and threatens the integrity of Turkey.
As a result of cooperating with the US in Libya and Syria, Turkey;
- Has become a country that hosts the world's largest number of refugees; is a neighbor to a Little Afghanistan (Idlib in Syria); is experiencing an economic crisis; is avoided by Western countries for visa issuance; ranks third after Syria and Afghanistan in asylum applications to Europe; has seen an increase in drug use and trafficking; and is in the same cluster as Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq in global organized crime.
THE US PROJECT THAT IS NO SECRET
The Greater Middle East Project (GMEP) was very clear. Even if all documents and the historical process were ignored, former NATO Commander US General Wesley Clark explained the US goals in very understandable language in a 2007 TV interview.
He recounted his conversation with a general at the Pentagon as follows: “Ten days after 9/11, I went to the Pentagon and saw Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and his deputy Wolfowitz. I went downstairs. One of the generals called me in... We were bombing Afghanistan at the time. I asked, ‘Are we still going to war with Iraq?’ He said, ‘It’s worse than that.’ He reached over to his desk, picked up a piece of paper. ‘I just got this from upstairs. It’s a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and finishing off with Iran.’” (2) The former NATO Commander, a US General, had stated the Pentagon plan for the fragmentation of Iraq, Syria, and Libya on live broadcast in 2007, that is, four years before the start of the “Bloody Autumn” storm.
NEXT IS IRAN
The US has reached the stage of fragmenting Iran just like the other countries.
TRT Director General Zahid Sobacı said at the 2024-2025 opening ceremony of Bursa Uludağ University, “We will launch the TRT Persian channel at the end of this year. We have to disturb Iran, we have to disturb Iran!”
As if Turkey has learned no lessons, is it now preparing to cooperate with the US against Iran? Was the number of refugees not enough, and is it preferring 4-5 million more refugees, mostly Afghans currently in Iran? The Syrian and Iraqi borders have turned into a geography that produces terror. Is it desired for the Iranian border to also turn into a farm that produces terror? Most importantly, the four-part so-called Kurdistan Project.
The US has completed two parts in Iraq and Syria. Now it is the turn of the parts in Iran and Turkey... Is Turkey not aware of this threat? If it is aware, what is the statement of the TRT Director General? Why cooperate with the US?..
A mistake made in strategy cannot be corrected with daily measures... Whatever the yeast is in the dough, the leader is that in strategy. This is the verdict of five thousand years of written history...
