What will become of these private school teachers?

While the economic crisis in the country is putting a significant strain on the working population, private school teachers within this group are unfortunately feeling the brunt of these hardships to their very last breath.

The gap between the salaries of teachers working in public schools and those in private schools is widening. Most private school teachers earn only about half the salary of their public school counterparts. Furthermore, due to the irregularity of many institutions, they often cannot even receive these salaries on time.

Under these circumstances, private school teachers have reached a breaking point. Their demand to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) for a solution is a return to the 'base salary' practice, which was previously in effect but was inexplicably abolished later. They have personally conveyed this request to the minister. However, no concrete steps have been taken yet.

If the MEB does not take action on this matter, it will leave private school teachers to misery. So why is no action being taken?

The reason is actually clear: private schools do not want the 'base salary' practice because they would be unable to pay these wages. In the current situation, unfortunately, the ministry is acting in favor of institution owners rather than teachers.

I hope the MEB will change this stance soon and protect the personal rights of private school teachers, especially regarding their salaries. Because this indifference means that the MEB treats private school teachers like stepchildren.

Let us not forget that the MEB is not just the ministry for public school teachers, but for all teachers. I hope that Mr. Yusuf Tekin will approach private school teachers with this awareness and resolve this situation in favor of the teachers.

If a word must be said to parents who send their children to private schools, it is that a school that wants to keep teacher salaries low cannot be beneficial to your child.

Remember, if a teacher is unhappy and hopeless, no good will come from that school.

You should also stand up for the teachers at your school and make sure to question the economic situation and salaries of the teachers so that the institution owners are forced to take action on this matter.
