Berlin, Brussels, Washington... Which capital is the product of the change of power in Hungary? Now, some will stand up and say something about a "voter decision." Forgetting the fact that in our new Middle Ages, the media and politics shape the public's consciousness... Forgetting the thesis that, at least except during periods of major crisis, the decisions of the masses can be directed by the consciousness of the ruling class...
These things can be said.
But that is not how it really is.
The changing of the cards in Budapest, Viktor Orbán being forced to hand over the keys to the government to Péter Magyar, is not just a result reached by the Hungarian people at the ballot box and through their independent will.
Perhaps that is what is visible.
But the objective reality, when we look at the people, events, and phenomena, is not like that at all.
We know, and we do not forget that Marx was right: If the appearances of things, phenomena, and—let us elaborate—especially "historical events" on the stage were one and the same as their essence (or their true values, cause-and-effect relationships), there would be no need for science. There would be no need for leftism at all.
No one is saying "let us avoid drawing similarities," but we must not forget the differences and distinctions either. No one is the exact same as anyone else.
They are not the same, but they are similar. In this sense, we can draw parallels; we can construct the laws of progress.
How, you ask?
We can identify similarities in people, societies, and events through their main trends. We can see a continuity.
But it is "we" who identify these, that is, the similarities.
In reality, they are not one and the same things or events, etc.
An example from nature: Human fingerprints might resemble one another, but no one's fingerprint is like another's. It is impossible.
The same is true for scent. No human's body odor is the same as another's. Fingerprints and body odors are unique and singular for every person. It is also known that there is a "scent identity" based on people's genetic heritage, immune system, and metabolism.
IS GERMANY THE MAIN CONNECTION CABLE?
Let us stay in politics.
Let us look at Hungary and seek a parallel.
The German politician hidden under the Brussels sprout, evaluating things under that skin, an indefatigable defender of militarism, Ursula von der Leyen—who is, as you know, the President of the EU Commission—declared that the European Union emerged victorious from the election held in Hungary on Sunday. Right on election night, at that. She was speaking on behalf of the EU, true, but was it not the case that what she did not say was that Berlin lies behind this change? German Chancellor Friedrich Merz did not hide his joy anyway. The SPD, the Greens, everyone was happy. The anti-Orbán atmosphere in politics and the media was above everything else.
Could Péter Magyar have come to power if Berlin had not given its approval and cleared the way?
More importantly, it was seen that Washington's decisive influence/power suffered a heavy blow. Ultimately, the power in the US was on Orbán's side. They wanted him to stay. But it did not happen. Berlin was on Magyar's side.
Berlin, Paris, or Rome? Or some other capital we do not know of? Or is it the public's consciousness?
The first conclusion to be drawn is probably this: Not everything Washington wants happens. But it is also important to avoid replacing old forms of complacency with new ones. When we look at the statements of the media, the government, and even the opposition, we see it easily: Magyar's coming to power happened with Berlin's great support. But can Berlin make everything it wants happen in Europe? Not quite. However, it can prevent what it does not want from being done.
It must be accepted that Germany is the main connection cable in the relations between Hungary and the US or Turkey and the US. This has emerged.
Berlin is very happy with the result obtained and with Orbán being removed from power, even if temporarily. Well, can it prevent him from coming to power again in the next election, which an early election is also possible?
In Hungary, the "Reis" (Chief) is gone, and a kind of Ahmet Davutoğlu, a comrade in destiny, has replaced him. Perhaps for this reason, propaganda that many things have changed so that there is no change in the established system is being poured onto the public like bombs through the culture industry. We can look at it that way, too.
