Things have become thoroughly confused. Turkey is running at full speed toward chaos. But there is something else behind this.
That thing is fear.
The “May fear” of capital.
May 1st is well-known, May 6th is the execution date of Turkey's three most beautiful saplings, May 19th is the date set out to create a republic from a collapsing empire, and May 27th... This last May is, I suppose, still the most feared “surprise.”
Under these fears and in a crisis that is now deepening significantly, capital has begun to press all the buttons at once. The AKP is capital itself; this is surely known to everyone.
But this must be said from the very beginning: The AKP and its Reis can no longer govern Turkey. They will drag it through the dirt until it is shattered to pieces. Ankara is like this from now on. What a pity...
However, we were talking about “fear.”
Is it because of this fear that people believe Erdoğan asked Trump for permission for a judicial operation against the CHP?
We cannot imagine such an “uninitiated” bridge of connection between them. That is, the Islamist government cannot easily allow itself to be “bypassed” like this. A “proud vassal spirit” might be on the agenda. After all, they hold the reins in one way or another in a key country in the region that has one foot in Europe. Even if they are Islamists, they can see that this great weight creates a wide field of maneuver for them.
But let's assume such permission or “briefing” is the case. In that case, the US is very far away; permission would have been sought from Germany, which is much closer, if it were to be sought at all.
Didn't Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan embrace Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Berlin last week? That is, a few days before the “absolute nullity” decision...
Turkey's search for a master in the outside world over the last 50 years seems to have concluded. It is known that toward the end of the 1970s, Turkey was left under the care of Germany (first the “Bonn Republic” and after 1989 the “Berlin Republic”) in the outside world and especially in Europe. But this is not explicitly stated. The hesitant attitude of the Left on this issue is also strange. If one looks at the attitude of German politics toward the various coups on March 12, 1971, September 12, 1980, and November 3, 2002, a general picture can be obtained. In all of them, the Social Democrats (SPD) were in power in Bonn-Berlin. Apart from press releases meant to go through the motions, no effective measures were taken that could have put a wedge in front of those initiatives: It is merely a statement of the situation.
We are talking about an external connection center that has never made an effective objection to any of the reactionary coups in Turkey, the results of which can be clearly seen today as the liquidation of the republic. Why would they object to this latest judicial coup targeting the CHP with an “effective method”?
So, has there been no exchange of information at all?
FACTORY SETTINGS: “WAITING FOR YESTERDAY”
These exist. But they are not that important. How can we emerge from the deepening chaos in Turkey into relief? Does Turkey have such a chance?
If you are among those seeking help from the past by talking about democracy, factory settings, etc., then you are out of luck. You will be waiting a long time.
In our past, even in 1923 as a revolutionary foundation and a progressive historical step, there is no recipe to solve today's deadlock. Let us not allow people to deceive themselves.
Prof. Dr. Yalçın Küçük wrote for years about “what kind of person” Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is and shouted it on television from the few windows opened to him. Those who wish can watch it again on social media and YouTube.
What the writer Orhan Gökdemir has written for years is also there. Those who wish can also read Gökdemir's books and weekly articles.
What these people wrote and said always turned out to be true. They were not alone in this field either.
Let us add: Where Ekrem İmamoğlu and Özgür Özel, who “grew” in politics under the Kılıçdaroğlu umbrella, came from, where they are going, and where they will end up is another enigma.
The fact that those who object to these look for solutions in the past resembles the title of a book by Michael Parenti, who passed into eternity at the age of 93 this January. This combative American's biographical book, which does not have a substantial translation in German but entered Turkish many years ago with the translation by writer Özcan Buze, bears the title “Waiting for Yesterday.”
Parenti aside, the issue today is this: The Turkish Left needs to get rid of the trap of waiting for the past as soon as possible.
Well, is it possible?
Waiting for the past is to be erased from history.
ARE WE ON THE YUGOSLAVIA-SYRIA LINE?
Let us suffice for now with reminding those who are saddened by the shattering of the CHP of history. There is a disgusting judicial coup at hand. True. But why the CHP and why now? Moreover, why with these cadres and so easily? Into whose hands has a party that founded a state fallen, and why did it fall?
Those who do not have the courage to ask these questions will wear the straitjacket tailored for them “obediently”... Just as they go to the ballot box obediently and vote for Islamist candidates, each dirtier than the other...
But there is another side to this picture: Such endings also trigger new beginnings and new foundations in history that were never in the calculations.
We need a brand new front. We need the declaration of a shadow government that can immediately take on the fate of the country and its urgent salvation program... A secular, unitary, socialist-oriented state administration, and a public-oriented and central planning economy are essential if we want to maintain our existence in this geography and do not want to disappear on the Yugoslavia-Syria line.
We have no time left to be sad. Our intellectual accumulation is sufficiently developed. There is also enough material wealth in Turkey, which has been left to the plunder of rent-seekers. In other words, salvation and reconstruction are possible.
The Turkish intellectual can only put an end to all these disgraces being experienced with the support of the laborers and by intervening from the outside. Otherwise, it is possible to foresee what will happen by looking at the Yugoslavia-Syria line.
