NATO and Turkey: The war passion of democratic Europe

Let us start like this: If the NATO protest, which as always is led by communists, is no longer looking for a venue, meaning if the voices of patriots saying, "We will shout that you are murderers and exploiters in places you never expected! We will not turn a blind eye to you rolling dice with our lives!" are growing, does this indicate that the final veils of a low-intensity civil war are being lifted for now?

There is a horrific organization of robbery and murder in our midst. Its name is NATO.

Rejecting it is part of the definition of patriotic leftism in Turkey.

Liberal sellouts do not count as leftists. Putting them aside, to be a leftist in this country, one must say "No to NATO." This has been the case since the young peace-lovers who caused a stir when Turkey joined NATO in the early 1950s.

This war and plunder mentality, which will pollute Ankara and Turkey on July 7-8, has finalized its plans. At the NATO Summit in Ankara, a new military support package for Ukraine worth 70 billion euros will be finalized under Germany's leadership. In other words, the formalities will be completed. It is said that 30 billion of this amount will come from the EU Credit Program, and 40 billion will be covered by the bilateral commitments of NATO members. (I wonder what Turkey's commitments are?)

However, a supplementary support of 140 billion euros is also mentioned in the closing declaration prepared for the NATO Summit in Ankara.

Negotiations will continue, and some figures will likely be adjusted upwards or downwards.

We know one thing: Trump's USA is only fulfilling arms orders; the poor of Europe will finance the business of arming Ukraine. That money will not come from the pockets of those who govern the states or the capitalist class, but from the pockets of millions of poor people. It will be pinched from them. It will be cut from their sustenance.

Let us call it by its name: When we look at all these developments, it becomes easier to argue that the main instigator of the Ukraine war is the "democratic EU" or "German Europe," or more precisely, their ruling classes.

But why?

Do we not need to find a reason for this insistence, this stubbornness?

In what direction are the German industrial giants, deprived of Russian energy, searching?

News that hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen workers will be laid off and that four giant factories in Germany will be closed is the main headline in the media... They can no longer hide it. There is a crisis.

If anyone expects that a German industry that realizes it cannot survive in world markets without cheap Russian energy—or more accurately, German industrial giants, primarily automotive (VW, Mercedes, BMW) and chemicals, which are showing signs of collapse—will quietly swallow this development along with their subcontractors, they are mistaken.

It is impossible for this economic impasse in Germany not to trigger a political crisis.

That is why not only the new right-wing AfD (Alternative for Germany), which public opinion polls confirm is now the country's largest party, but also the bases of other so-called left-wing parties have begun to grumble that Prime Minister Friedrich Merz's days are numbered.

Early elections could come to the agenda after the local election disasters expected in the eastern states in the autumn. The AfD is marching toward power alone in the east.

We said "so-called left." The war-crazy Green Party and the Left Party (Die Linke), which knows no bounds in its hostility toward Russia, are pursuing policies that justify this expression. But more importantly, there is the historical SPD, which crosses all boundaries. The SPD is the sister party of the CHP.

SPD German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is officially issuing calls for the deepening and expansion of war preparations. He reminds people of what needs to be done to strengthen "social cohesion." He wants civil defense mechanisms to prepare for war with Russia, based on the reality that in a total war, the interior of the country will also become a front. According to Pistorius, Federal Germany is under a greater threat than ever since 1945. The gentleman is talking about Russia.

A cadre that believes the salvation of industry, if Russian energy is unavailable, lies in rearmament is in power. But the billions showered on Ukraine, alongside rising poverty and planned cuts to the social security rights of lower-income groups—this contradiction is causing some questions/doubts to accumulate among the public.

There are two opposing developments in German Europe regarding the Ukraine war, and that is the problem: The rulers and the ruling cadres want a war with Russia. They have to finance this by cutting from the people's income. If they incite their societies toward war, they might solve this for a while. However, there is no development yet showing that the peoples share this appetite for war.

They do not want war. But they are not intervening in what is happening either.

Just like in Turkey.

The public sees and feels that the AKP is a disaster, but they do not take action, they do not protest in the streets, and they do not show concrete reactions to the lack of a constitution, the election games turned into a farce, the lawlessness, and the impoverishment.

The rulers know well that this "grumbling" will not yield results.

The deadlock is here. There is such a parallel between Europe and Turkey.
