The 'Abdulhamid II' regime and Germany: What about Turkey's address?

We are going through a war economy. It is as if we are repeating the history of the first quarter of the last century in places...

There is a massive armament drive on the Old Continent that will mean direct intervention in the fate of Turkey, or more accurately, the AKP despotism that we could also call the “Abdulhamid II regime.”

We keep writing: Europe is arming like crazy.

Europeans, especially the German political class, are in a state of mind that will upset all balances.

They think they can prevent the decline in key sectors such as automotive, chemical, and machinery manufacturing by producing weapons. What they are proposing is a “war economy.”

Let us not just fix our eyes on the unstable American caricature also known as Donald Trump. There are things much more important than the delusions of this perhaps unstable but very useful head of state. For example, from Turkey's perspective, Washington is further from Ankara than Berlin is.

It is impossible not to see this.

It has been a long time since Berlin began to consider Ankara under its own purview within Europe and NATO in the world system. This path was taken almost half a century ago, in the early 1970s. However, it is not easy to see this on the table. Because there are covers, and the presence of the US, which is thought to be the leader, can dazzle the eyes and deafen the ears. But this must now be stated clearly: Within the world system, no dice can be cast regarding Turkey without asking Berlin, and especially without sidelining it.

“NEVER WITHOUT BERLIN!”

When you speak by looking at foreign trade items and the origin of industry, technology, patents, and know-how in Turkey, you are forced to say “Never without Berlin!”

There is a government in Berlin that has announced to the whole world that it will build Europe's largest conventional army. This is a right-wing government trying to overcome the bottleneck in its economy, especially the stagnation in heavy industry due to the energy crisis, by shifting to arms production. Christian Democrat (CDU) Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his Social Democrat (SPD) coalition partners are sowing war together. It cannot be said that the Green Party and the liberal FDP are lagging behind in this regard; in fact, it should be noted that they are even more aggressive. The AfD, which currently appears as the country's largest party in German public opinion polls—a party described as far-right but more accurately defined as “radical Christian Democrat”—is the largest party in the country in public opinion polls. And by a wide margin. It is a right-wing political movement that has taken the wind of domestic industrialists behind it regarding the purchase of cheap energy from Russia. Therefore, we cannot say that it is very uncomfortable with the sowing of weapons.

They are sowing war in one way or another, and it is seen that the pain of this, that is, these weapons, could be used first in the Black Sea and then perhaps in the Caucasus.

So, are we being pushed back 120 years, to the period of the Balkan Wars?

Will the Black Sea become a war lake and will Turkey be thrown into this catastrophe again? Where will the weapons that Germany will produce be used?

TRILLION-DOLLAR WAR INVESTMENT

Germany's government borrowing for this arms production will be 838 billion euros in the 2027-2030 period. This shows that Germany, which is fourth in the world military spending rankings in 2025 behind the US, China, and Russia, will rise to third place and settle there.

Is it possible for this initiative and these amounts to just graze Turkey?

Will Turkey, which is navel-dependent on Germany, not be forced to take on the role of a second Ukraine against Russia under this despotic regime? Let us add a related question: Would Iran, which is constantly being bombed, not target the bases in Turkey?

Do we think that Russia, which has nothing to do with the Soviet Union but where the “Soviet pressure” coming from the grassroots cannot be ignored, will not add the forces that will surround it from the Black Sea to its targets in Europe?

It is clear that Germany, which does not hide that it is arming against Russia, will use or have these products used somewhere.

Turkey has been thrown into the middle of a trap with the NATO meeting in Ankara.

Not only Washington's but also Berlin's calculations are effective here.

Summary of the summary: If the government in Berlin is going to embark on an adventure, it will put Turkey and its young population forward before itself for this. This means that Turkey's address and “surface area” will change and shrink rapidly.

Needless to say, this shrinkage will be very painful and bloody.

They have made Turkey a target and even a center of a slaughter. This was what the NATO Ankara summit was.

It is the “Abdulhamid II” regime; it does it.

Especially if it has an “opposition” that is as eager as the government in being pro-NATO, why wouldn't it?
