Turkey is tied at the navel: The situation in Germany's Europe is dire

The topic of the day in Germany was whether Deniz Undav, the talented son of a Turkish family, would be in the German national team's starting eleven. Undav, whose rise could truly be the subject of a film, is saving German football from disgrace with his goals; that is very clear. Germany could win the World Cup thanks to this young man named Deniz. He is constantly in the headlines...

Now, some might think, "Oh, these Germans have no other problems, they are busy with him!" That is not how it works.

In Great Germany, which everyone accepts as the hegemonic power of Europe, there is a deepening crisis and no solution. This is because there is no socialist alternative. As in all of Europe, a war-mongering right-wing has seized all corners in Germany. The only major movement that speaks of peace and objects to the war with Russia is a party with fascistic channels running through it: Alternative for Germany (AfD). Anyway, we will touch upon that...

A government of millionaires is in power, where bankruptcies are hitting records and they are trying to close budget deficits by crushing the throats of millions of poor people who have already been caught in the winds of impoverishment. German industry has already begun moving its production outside of Germany the moment it was cut off from Russian energy. Energy-intensive sectors like automotive and chemicals are bewildered.

Those who find the solution in a terrifying scale of 800 billion euros in arms production across the EU have taken over all party administrations. The AfD, which says "Let's buy cheap energy from Russia and make peace," does not have much objection to this militarization either.

In short, those who believe they can save the economy and society—and undoubtedly politics—from this crisis by militarizing them have taken the helm. It is not just the classical right, the Christian Democrats (CDU and CSU), leading these war-mongers, but also the Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens (Die Grünen), the liberals (FDP), and even the Left Party (Die Linke), which has quite a few caricatures of itself in our own "left"... For all of them, the "arch-enemy" is Russia. We will explain why the end of this madness could lead toward a nuclear-fallout war.

This madness of militarization has two urgent shadows falling on Turkey—not just on the government, but also on its NATO-loving opposition. One: Turkey will also be right in the middle of nuclear confrontations. There is no escape. Two: In this imperialist "union" struggling in crisis, the European Union (EU)—or rather, Germany's Europe—is still full of those who find a recipe for democracy there and who determine the opposition in Turkey.

There and here, or here and there, we are in a sea of desperation.

EUROPE LEFT OVER FROM SOCIALISM

There is no socialist transcendence in Europe that can stand against right-wing politics, a ruthless capitalism, that is, neoliberal madness. The situation is very different from the Weimar Republic years 100 years ago. At that time, there was a socialist establishment outside Germany and a transcendent socialist alternative within Germany. Capital took revenge on both with a horrific policy of annihilation. The Soviet Union suffered 27 million deaths; historians who argue that this number reached up to 40 million with "indirect deaths" are not wrong. The German left also received its share of this annihilation policy internally; it was broken down to the last person. The "concentration camps and gas chambers" were established not only for the Jewish population of around 600,000 living in Germany in 1933, but for millions of communists, socialists, social democrats, and even liberals, etc. The main culprit, of course, was the communists. Anyway...

Now let us come to today, where the situation is very different: Is the geography scraped by right-wing politics only in our parts?

Let us ask it differently: Is desperation unique to Turkey?

Not really.

The USA is very far away and is rapidly declining. "Pax Americana" is over. It can be considered that Iran has put the final period on it.

But in the European political geography as an imperialist center and its vassals—let us call it Germany's Europe—in a climate where fascistic movements, branded as "far-right," are officially taking the reins, there is no remedy. It is not just Meloni in the Italian government; there are also the grandchildren of Mussolini. (Italian writer Antonio Scuratti says, "Mussolini was always here, he never left.") In France, it is understood that Marine Le Pen's protégé Jordan Bardella could become the head of state; the support is massive. In Austria, the FPÖ, and in Germany, the AfD have set their sights on power as "far-right" parties. All of them are in first place. It is a mindset. New regimes of oppression...

A BITTER PARALLELISM

In Germany, the AfD is no longer content with coming in first in public opinion polls. In some election surveys, it has increased the gap between itself and the Christian Democrats (CDU and CSU), from which it emerged, to 9 points. These are very serious indicators.

We will be facing another fascism, a new militarized regime of oppression of capitalism. We have not been able to name it yet...

We are in a process of terrifying levels of arms production and the militarization of societies.

Bad days await those who look for and find democracy in the EU, in NATO, that is, in a militarized imperialism.

Bad days await us all.

The crisis is spreading step by step.

We actually said all this for this reason: The politics followed by the rising power of Germany, and thus Europe, the AfD and its "siblings," and the confrontations within the CHP contain bitter parallels.

The AfD has only two messages: By pointing to immigrants to low-income groups and saying, "Our problems stem from the increase in the number of these immigrants, especially the number of illegal immigrants," it can create mass support for itself. By pointing to Russian natural gas and oil to big capital, especially industrial capital, primarily automotive and chemicals, it explains that this cheap energy must definitely return to Germany. This is how it positions itself within labor and capital.

In short, we cannot say that the AfD pushes the boundaries of the German political class, except for its "extremism" on two issues. There is no socio-economic difference between them, especially with the CDU-CSU. But there is a confrontation.

Is there not a similar one in Turkey? Can anyone looking for any difference regarding the economy, politics, or foreign policy between Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the teams of Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu in the CHP find one? But there is a major confrontation.

Because there is no difference between them, there is a big fight. Capitalism and its democracy are like that.

We are talking about Germany: A country where it is claimed that one in three people has a migration background and the population with roots in Turkey has exceeded 4 million, and the AfD is going to be in power. Just imagine the chaos in the streets... When I say chaos...
