Nayib Bukele

All epidemics occur when a virus breeds and spreads in the right place and at the right time. Everything by its nature starts from 1, and for this reason, one ignorant person can be fatal for a thousand wise ones, and one wise person can be fatal for a thousand ignorant ones. These days, we are experiencing how individuals who cannot mentally integrate into social life condemn us to live in what is effectively an open prison. But unfortunately, we are once again only talking about the consequences. 

The idea that a human being has a right to life starting from birth is a matter only 250 years old. The acceptance by contemporary societies that women are also human beings has not even reached its 100th year yet. None of this happened upon request. Throughout history, rights have been taken by force, with blood, sweat, and tears. We are a society that has been modernized by state force. Or rather, we are what remains of that society.   

In Turkey in the 1970s, the average life expectancy had dropped to the level of being able to return home safely. Regardless of the intent, the results were threatening daily life as brutally as they do today. We experienced the 1980 coup as a result of the 1973 general election, the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation, and the 1977 general election, as well as the murder of countless people and conscious intellectuals. Throughout the process, Turkey was too busy to calculate the human consequences of the rural-to-urban migration it could not urbanize, and the political dangers of the 1979 Iranian Islamic Revolution. The Iranian people, 40% of whom are Azerbaijani Turks, had also begun to modernize simultaneously with Turkey. 

The 1980 coup paved the way for religious sects and communities. Racist torture was consciously carried out in Diyarbakır Prison. Thus, the ancestral seeds of the two natural enemies of the Republic of Turkey were sown. Since the 1983 general election, the number of votes for right-wing parties has always increased. In contrast, despite all kinds of evils that have befallen the country, left-wing parties have not been able to significantly increase their vote counts. We had a mathematical misreading here, which became two. The first was Ecevit becoming prime minister with only 22% of the vote in the 1999 general election. Due to the number of seats in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), he was very weak in the government, and a few months later, he experienced the August 17, 1999 earthquake and its natural consequence, the 2001 economic crisis. He was both very weak and very unlucky. In other words, we have been governed by a right-wing government for 44 years since the 1980 coup. Unless there is an early election, we will not be able to see another possibility for at least 48 years. The second misconception is the 2024 local election results.

At the 79th United Nations General Assembly held between September 22-29, 2024, El Salvador's young president of Palestinian descent, Nayib Bukele, said, "the free world is no longer free, humanity is facing a new dark age, the world is divided, hostile and hopeless." Bukele is the leader who made his country, where mafia and gangs reigned, safe by implementing a state of emergency regime after being elected president. Currently, 2% of the population is in prisons as detainees or convicts. While doing this, he committed countless human rights violations. He isolated criminals from society and saved his people. He concluded his speech at the United Nations by inviting people of the world who want to live in peace to his country. In other words, he did not just stop at saving his country from tyrants. In the second phase, he made an invitation that would elevate the country's economy by promising a peaceful life to foreigners.

Returning to our country, at the end of the day, my vote is equal to that of Aziz Sancar. Turkey, which had 35 million people in 1970, reached 70 million by 2002. According to lifestyle, regions, and similar statistics, the reproduction rates of human clusters from the past to the present are also clear. There is also something else that is clear. The Islamic lifestyle discourse whispered after the Ayşenur Halil and İkbal Uzuner massacre and the past social media posts of the killer's father. Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı said it, but no one took it upon themselves. We are a small minority trying to live secularly in our country, which is increasingly becoming like Lebanon. We must stop complaining about the consequences to the causes and realize that every femicide is an attack on secular life and the secular state.
