The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has amended the relevant regulation of the Forestry Law. Mining has been permitted within 500 meters of settlements, 5 kilometers of the coastline, and in forests along highways. Furthermore, the ministry will now issue licenses by taking into account the license and royalty (lease) duration. Mine owners will report all rehabilitation and soil filling operations for the mine for the entire year every June. If the scope of the license exceeds 10 hectares for products such as sand, gravel, and rock, or 150 hectares for products such as certain salts, gases, and minerals, a mining license will be granted for a new area equal to the rehabilitated area. However, if the mineral reserve is not exhausted and mining activity continues, a return condition will not be required.
The Ministry of Trade has amended the Customs Regulation, imposing certain regulatory obligations on warehouse operators, primarily regarding capital requirements. From now on, warehouses will notify the regional directorates of customs and foreign trade of the annual price tariffs they will use in their operations at the beginning of the year; otherwise, the entry of goods into the warehouse will not be permitted.
The Personal Data Protection Authority has announced that access to the personal data of a debtor's relatives by creditor attorneys, as well as the sharing of debt information belonging to the debtor, is considered a violation of the law, and that those concerned may be subject to administrative fines of up to 1 million TL upon complaint.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has published the Communiqué on Cream and Clotted Cream, banning the use of animal and vegetable fats other than milk fat in the production of cream and clotted cream. Products must be obtained from cow, sheep, goat, or buffalo milk, and proteins other than milk protein cannot be added to the products.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey terminated the foreign currency protected deposit system as of 23.08.2025.
