It has been prohibited to post advertisements, promote, or market short-term rental accommodations and residences online that do not possess an authorization certificate. Websites will be required to request the authorization certificate from the advertiser before publishing such listings. Furthermore, travel agencies are now prohibited from mediating the marketing and sale of accommodation facilities or residences that lack an authorization certificate.
Income tax and corporate tax payers will be required to submit a certification report prepared by certified public accountants in order to benefit from exemptions and deductions in the new year.
With the Regulation on the Establishment and Duties of Tax Offices, the profession of revenue specialist, which has been practiced in tax offices for many years and is based on merit, has been effectively abolished. Under the new regulation, the job description of revenue specialists has become ambiguous, and they have been placed under the authority of the tax office manager and assistant manager.
Effective as of January 1, 2026;
-Departure Fee for Traveling Abroad: 1,250 TL
-Special Consumption Tax (SCT) exemption limit for vehicle purchases by individuals with disabilities: 2,873,900 TL
-Valuable housing tax exemption threshold: 17,711,000 TL. For real estate values exceeding this amount, tax will be payable at rates starting from 3 per thousand.
The Constitutional Court;
-Ruled that the application of legal interest on the refund of customs duties is unconstitutional on the grounds that it causes a loss of rights due to inflation and, consequently, a violation of property rights. The decision will enter into force in 9 months.
-Repealed the article in the Code of Criminal Procedure (Article 247/3), which regulates the trial of fugitives, for the second time, with the decision to take effect in 9 months.
-Repealed the article in the Code of Criminal Procedure (Article 231), which regulates the deferment of the announcement of the verdict, for the second time, with the decision to take effect in 9 months.
