With an amendment to the Price Tag Regulation, the regulations regarding service, table, and cover charges, which were valid if clearly stated on the menu in the previous regulation, have been completely abolished. From now on, businesses will not be able to impose any extra charges under any name other than the prices of the products written on the menu.
The Regulation on Products Derived from Hemp and the Regulation on Hemp Cultivation and Control have been published. In accordance with the regulation, hemp fiber, seed, and stalk production will be permitted in Amasya, Antalya, Bartın, Burdur, Çorum, İzmir, Karabük, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Konya, Kütahya, Malatya, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Sinop, Sivas, Tokat, Uşak, Yozgat, and Zonguldak, as well as the districts of these provinces. Interested parties will submit their applications to the governorates, and permits will be valid for 1 year. Production can only be carried out for medical and health purposes in accordance with the quota to be determined by the Turkish Grain Board (TMO). The produced hemp can only be sold in pharmacies.
The Regulation on the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey has been amended. The provisions in the previous regulation stating that applications subject to a lawsuit could not be processed and that the investigation would be terminated if a lawsuit was filed regarding the subject while the Institution's investigation was ongoing have been removed. Thus, even if a lawsuit has been filed on matters falling within the scope of the Human Rights and Equality Institution, the Institution will be able to conduct its investigation and issue a violation decision independently of the ongoing lawsuit.
An amendment to the Highway Traffic Law has granted the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure the authority to supervise electric scooter companies such as Martı and Bin Bin.
The Regulation on Professional Competence Training for Road Transport Activities has been amended, adding the "SRC courier professional competence certificate" to the legislation and ensuring that couriers are registered. The age limit for couriers, which was set at 63 in the previous regulation, has been raised to 69.
The MEB Regulation on the Assignment of Administrators for Educational Institutions has been renewed, and the interview practice has been completely abolished. In place of the oral examination practice applied in the previous regulation, the Administrator Training Program to be provided by the National Education Academy has been introduced.
With the amendment made to the Civil Servants Law, it has been made easier to dismiss those who have received more than one warning or reprimand penalty during their candidacy period from civil service. Furthermore, those whose employment is terminated for reasons other than health are prohibited from being accepted into civil service for 3 years.
