Where do we come from and where are we going?

The third eyelid that lost its function when human habitat shifted from sea to land, the tailbone that atrophied after achieving balance on two legs, and the appendix, a remnant from the millennia when we fed on plants. Charles Darwin said that after his work titled On the Origin of Species, published in 1859, he was waiting for the right environment to develop for his work titled The Descent of Man, which he would publish in 1871. By the right environment, he meant the unknown duration required for social acceptance to occur. Humans and everything related to humans are like this; they change. It takes time for them to change, to realize they have changed, and to accept the change they have realized. While some development and change can fit into a single human lifespan, others sometimes need millennia to be completed.

Compared to other mammals, humans have a truly short lifespan to reach the level where the previous generation perceived and made sense of the outside world. Moreover, they can spend only a very small part of this short life developing. Furthermore, they have long since surpassed the cycle of primitive basic needs and have reached a level to regulate the relationships between their own species and other species. Human mental development largely ends in the first quarter of their average lifespan. Once development is complete, a human cannot change mentally; they only gain experience and age physically. Many concepts spoken of today regarding the good and the beautiful, such as equality, freedom, justice, and democracy, are also phenomena that humans have only recently begun to experience. For us, the human lifespan is as short as the life of a butterfly is for these concepts. It is precisely for these reasons that unprecedented inventions, unheard-of thoughts, and unimaginable massacres appear one after another in many parts of Europe in a very short time.  

The idea of freedom from the guillotine revolution at the end of the 18th century, where today's fundamental principles were formed, led to results disconnected from its introduction and development in many underdeveloped societies like ours. While there was the Franco dictatorship in Spain in 1973, the junta of the colonels in Greece, the Pahlavi monarchy before the Islamic revolution in Iran, and a democratic administration in Afghanistan that is incomparable to today, changes that determined the fates of the mentioned geographies took place in half a century.

Today, we experience the same transformation in every geography through the concept of immigration. As mammals born of humans and from humans, we are learning by living how different we actually are from each other, how unsuitable we are for living together, and that we are practically wolves to one another. In this age we live in, it is impossible that human reason and public administration have not projected the thousand and one possibilities of everything happening with the current budget and manpower. Then why are some people painting the surroundings red and setting bulls free, forcing wolves and lambs to live in the same place, and releasing the mad from the asylum and the sick from the hospital? I think these are questions that each of us will live to find the answer to. 

However, before finishing, we need to move on to the questions that cause us to lag 50 years behind.   Making the wolf and the lamb live together like brothers is like expecting a stone we picked up from the ground to rise when we let go of it. Just as it is impossible to remove the guillotine from the French Revolution, the beautiful ideas that spread to the world from the French Revolution can only flourish in a highly educated society. Education, due to human mental development, can only be possible in the first quarter of life. In other words, for the vote of the shepherd in the village and the vote of the one who asks "is my vote equal to the shepherd's in the village" to be equal, both must have received the necessary minimum education in the correct timeframe before their mental development was completed. So, education is truly essential. Just as it is impossible to expect successful surgeries from a poorly trained brain surgeon, it is equally meaningless to expect someone who is not well-educated to use their brain correctly. Just as a human's height keeps growing in the first part of life, their education must also be carried out in a limited time in accordance with the realities of the age; otherwise, expecting this creature to make correct decisions until the end of its life is nothing more than wishful thinking. The right given to a person who has not been educated in the right way at the right time turns that person into a wolf and turns the right person into a lamb. In other words, essentially, man is not the wolf of man, but the ignorant is the wolf of the wise, and the bad is the wolf of the good. In the age we are in, the level we need to evolve to regarding the concepts of democracy, equality, freedom, and justice is to abandon the method of possessing them by birth just because the world has rotated around the sun 18 times, without actually grasping these concepts. Otherwise, especially in underdeveloped geographies like ours, the lamb will be left to the mercy of the wolf.
