The sociological and psychological turmoil that Turkey has been experiencing in recent years touches all of our lives. Events that we once said "would never happen" or that never even crossed our minds are now winking at us from the headlines every day.

Waking up to news of a new disaster every morning has become almost routine. As such, more and more people are coming to the brink of losing hope and getting lost in the dark waters of grief with each passing day.

Holding onto life in such a turbulent environment requires more than just staying afloat. Especially in times like these, the meaning of being together with our family, friends, and loved ones deepens significantly. At the end of the day, aren't our family and loved ones the only safe harbor in this storm, the things that remain and make us strong? That solidarity, being able to stand back-to-back, sprinkles a light of trust and hope within us.

But I must also say this; this is not just an individual struggle.

Yes, finding our own inner peace is important, but the path to societal healing requires all of us to make an effort together. The well-being of every individual in society is, in fact, a brick, a cornerstone for the healing of the entire society.

It is essential that we take the power of science behind us against this collapse and feeling of helplessness. Psychological support networks, educational mobilizations, healthy communication channels… All of these are indispensable for that societal healing we all need. After all, a country's mental health is shaped by the trust, respect, and love that people have for one another.

The more we cling to each other, the more we trust and support one another, the more possible it will be to overcome these difficult days. We need not only to focus on our own individual well-being but also to bring solutions to social problems through scientific methods during this process.

Therefore, let us join hands more and stand closer together during these difficult days. Let each of us take a step for society, even if it is a small one. Now is the time.
