We actually exist!…

Don't leave your news choices to an algorithm - decide for yourself what you read. Add 12punto to your preferred sources!

In recent weeks, I wrote an article titled 'We Actually Don't Exist!'

'Do you also feel lonely sometimes?

Like an outcast…

Like you've been forgotten…

We, the ordinary mortals. That is, those of us without powerful uncles, aunts, or connections in high places; those who work, try to remain enlightened, love their country, have embraced the path of Atatürk, walk for this country to reach the level of contemporary civilizations, protect its values, but at the same time want to be free and independent—in other words, want to live…

The list goes on…

It seems you have to take a side just to be protected, to feel safe.

It's as if the saying 'if you don't take a side, you'll be cast aside' has now become a reality…

It doesn't even matter which side it is, really…

Just as the middle class has disappeared due to the economy, we who feel ourselves to be in the middle no longer exist either…'

That is what I said…

I won't say I was wrong. But we weren't as alone as I thought.

I realized that our self-confidence has slowly eroded over the last twenty years.

We have convinced ourselves of the narrative that 'we are a minority'…

This, of course, stems not only from the government but also from opposition cadres who fear change and have become accustomed to saying, 'Let's not disturb our peace, Ali Rıza Bey.'

As a citizen, I thank everyone who resists, insists, and takes risks for this change.

We actually exist…

With one last effort, still with hope, in one voice…

May there be abundance, goodness, and beauty in change.

As long as we, as a nation, embrace one another…

We actually exist…

LOOKING FROM HERE

To provide a fresh perspective on news and life, I have embarked on a new journey with my dear friend of 26 years, Taner Bildik, one of the writers for 12 Punto.

'Looking From Here'

So why is it named this?

The fact that Greenwich, which is called the '0' meridian and accepted as the center of the GMT time zone, is in London, and that it is the capital of England, the westernmost country in Europe, gives an ironic meaning to looking at the world from that point.

London is one of the world's capitals of politics, finance, fashion, and art…

And Taner looks at the agenda from London…

Baku is the largest city in the Caucasus and its most important center of culture and trade.

And I look from Baku…

We are discussing what is happening in the world and how it is evaluated on two continents, as seen from two important capitals—one in Europe and the other in Asia.

After years of journalism in Turkey, we are trying to explain how events in Turkey and the world are seen and evaluated when viewed from different regions of the world by two journalists.

We are trying to present topics mostly related to life with a slightly humorous tone.

'Looking From Here' will be on our YouTube channel every Monday and Thursday at 22:00 Turkey time…
