Where is our country heading?

Not a day goes by in our country without an incident. There is always a struggle for life, for property, or for the homeland. Every year, we are shaken by either fires, earthquakes, floods, or disasters caused by the greed for profit of corporations. On top of all this, we are experiencing the disaster of poverty and hunger. Our country; with its government, opposition, non-governmental organizations, some unions, universities, and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) that represents them, is just watching. All these ideologies and beliefs have hijacked and taken over our thoughts. A monetary and rent-seeking mindset has engulfed every area of our country. Last year's earthquake disaster and murder, the İliç gold mining murder that occurred exactly one year later, and the forest fires and flood murders before that... Are these coincidences or fate? No, they are neither coincidence nor fate.

Every country is governed by the regime and government it deserves. If some in the government say, "Let them sink the country, we will become the government," they should excuse us, but those who watch are just as guilty as those who sink it. No one will hand over the country to you because of this mindset. We all witnessed the lack of principles and ideological betrayal in the mayoral candidate selection. You are all guilty; even if you sink it or try to destroy us, we will not leave our country. In this order of occupation, robbery, and plunder, we will rebuild our country by saving it from colonialists and traitors, just as Atatürk did. Our country ranks at the bottom in international criteria in terms of all social, political, scientific, administrative, legal, and economic data. There are also criteria where we rank at the top. These are; corruption, waste, nepotism, inflation, interest rates, high tax burden, and poverty, where we hold significant and leading positions in the world. Have you ever wondered why our country has been in the position of a developing (underdeveloped) country for 85 years? Who is to blame?

Our people have made a choice; the name of this choice is democracy. Simply voting in elections is neither democracy nor being a citizen. There are problems in our country regarding being a citizen versus being a subject. Being a citizen requires taking ownership of our country's past, present, and future, and becoming a power. We will become citizens on the day when the fate of our country is determined by the people, not by international powers. We will become citizens on the day the people decide where our country is heading.
