It Was a Dream, Now It's Reality: I'm Buying a House in Dubai

The country has been in a nightmare for the last 2-3 years, the likes of which no one can quite define.

Those with high incomes are unhappier than those with low ones.

Those who cannot afford eggs, milk, or cheese are in better spirits compared to those who have multiplied their rental income by 10 or 20.

A friend of mine, who previously received 6 thousand liras in rent from his three houses, has seen his rental income rise to 60 thousand liras with the latest increases.

Yet he still whines that the economy is not doing well.

The cleaning lady who used to come to my house 5 days a week, then 3 days, then 2 days, and finally 1 day, now only comes once a month.

We clean the toilets and sinks ourselves.

It's good exercise, too.

As for the lady who comes to help, she can only buy 3 kilos of cheese with her daily wage.

She can't even afford 3 kilos of ground meat.

But she whines less than I do.

She seems quite content with her situation.

That was until one day, when I heard her 7-8-year-old child, whom she had brought along, say, “Mom, they must be very rich, there is so much cheese in the fridge, can I eat some?” and I realized that the reality was not like that at all.

The nation has grown accustomed to hunger.

Forget about "protein-shmotein."

Prices are incredibly high, and the value of money has been shredded.

Just like the saying that when the water rises, the fish eat the ants, and when it recedes, the ants eat the fish; while 5-6 years ago we were going to Georgia and Bulgaria to "sin," we have now become the destination for Bulgarians and Georgians to do their own sinning.

In regions near the border, there is no room in hotels, nor is there chicken, oil, or eggs in the markets.

Just like the cleaning lady's child looking at the cheese in the fridge, we, too, watch from the storefront windows in border provinces, witnessing the pillaging by our "neighbors" who used to beg for "soup money."

Let us say, may God grant us a good end.

As long as what is called democracy is applied only as a “Per Capita Administrative Decision Support System,” we will not be able to escape this poverty.

Let's move from cheese to housing so I can deliver the good news in the headline.

We cannot keep up with the rise in housing prices.

The savings we rescued from the stock market and crypto gangs have also been shredded.

We thought we'd take a look at buying a studio apartment in Istanbul and Ankara, and we couldn't believe the prices.

Then, a housing advertisement popped up on my social media.

When I saw the prices, I decided to click.

My phone rang instantly.

It's calling from the Dubai-Gulf Region.

They are marketing a residence.

And they are speaking Turkish.

Oh God, please keep my sanity.

While I was thinking, "How can I buy a place in Dubai when we can't even buy a residence in Ankara? I should hang up this phone," I was shocked when I heard the prices.

Prices are cheaper than here.

And it even includes residence and work permits for the whole family.

The only problem for the women is that they apparently give residence permits to the mother-in-law as well.

They can resolve that among themselves.

Let's not cause an international mother-in-law-daughter-in-law crisis just because we're buying a house.

It seems the public sector no longer has the strength to solve the “Housing Problem,” along with the heavy burden of the earthquake.

It is hardly fathomable that Turkey has higher housing prices than a city like Dubai, which is in the wealthiest region of the world.

Municipalities must take the housing burden off the shoulders of the Central Government and solve this problem with projects they develop.

How, you ask?

That is on our “onlyfans” channel.
