What will be voted on in the elections: security, hunger, ideology, or individual merit?

Every election period in our country is considered very important.

Because Turkey is a dynamic country, open to change in every direction.

Sometimes it moves forward, sometimes it pauses, and sometimes it regresses within the unstoppable flow of history. 

In this process, within the general development environment of the socio-economy, administrators and elected officials are extremely important.

They are the subjective elements of social progress.

In general and local elections, those who make decisions for the country and the city either continue their duties or may be replaced.

Just as they determine the direction of the country and cities, they also reveal the hopes or despair of the individuals who elect them and of society as a whole.

Those in power aim to protect their positions based on their own class status, interests, and the programs of the parties to which they belong.

The opposition, likewise, struggles to replace those in power, based on their own class status, interests, and the programs of the parties to which they belong.

Political power means the power to determine and make decisions. 

Turkey is a large country with a population of 85 million and, as of 2023, a Gross Domestic Product of 1 trillion 154.6 billion dollars.

Today, this country and its cities are governed by “electoral democracy” The person or persons determined by it will govern.

Naturally, in relation to the social forces they are affiliated with.

The agenda of elections is determined by the country's current issues and the expectations of society.

Those who are dissatisfied with their living conditions expect administrators to provide a more comfortable life.

Those who believe their freedoms are restricted hope for this to change. 

There is no humanity without freedom!

In the debates over lifestyle that have been ongoing for years, everyone wants their own position to be protected.

For those who aim to change society ideologically, elections are a tool for persuading people.

In countries where capitalism defines the socio-economic framework, the environment of "electoral democracy" is shaped more or less in this way.

Turkey is perhaps the most dynamic country in West Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean in terms of economic, social, political, and international relations.

With the events it experiences, it is almost like a social laboratory within the historical process.

The war environment the country occasionally finds itself in, external threats, attempts related to the phenomenon called separatism, terrorist acts, and violence place the assurance of our people's security at the very center. 

Naturally, people want to live in a secure environment. They expect administrators to make this a reality. 

Protecting and maintaining the security of the country and the individual is an expensive endeavor.

It absorbs a significant portion of the country's resources. 

This will continue to be the case until peace becomes permanent in the world and egalitarian, highly virtuous societies are formed.

In countries like Turkey, the most important issue in voters' preferences is the assurance that they will live in a secure environment and that their safety will be maintained.

Above all else, people want administrators to ensure they do not die and that their own lives are protected.

In our country, social progress is being attempted through the development of capitalism.

In such a system, the country's development, the increase of national income, and its fair distribution have always been issues in countries where capitalism is dominant.

The employer will want to make high profits and secure those profits, while employees will want to receive the value of their labor.

This leads to conflicts from time to time.

In these conflicts, the State, managed by decision-makers who come to power through elections, is mostly on the side of the employers, whether in accordance with established laws or not.

This is because the path for the country was determined long ago. Capitalism must be protected and must function.

When there are problems regarding the country's general issues or when decision-makers make wrong decisions, the bill is always paid by the workers or those with low incomes.

The sustainability and survival of the system depend on this.

Without capital and capital accumulation, there is no capitalism.

In environments where these problems turn into a crisis or depression, the situation for low-income earners turns into a further deterioration of living conditions, while for those with better incomes, it turns into insecurity despite their rising income.

The economic crisis experienced in our country in recent years—inflation, high cost of living, the constant devaluation of currency, the continuous decline in citizens' purchasing power, and the fact that it is almost exceeding the hunger threshold—is the reason for the deep social unrest.

Hunger ruins every game!

There is an unpleasant proverb among the people: “A hungry dog breaks through a bakery!”

Societies have developed intellectual concepts for themselves throughout the process of historical development.

To understand and give meaning to their existence, they have drawn frameworks of religious beliefs and associated lifestyles; social classes have created theories for their interests, and both have established equations for building and living in an infinitely positive world.

In fact, this line of thought has been shaped down to the smallest detail.

 It is clear that these intellectual phenomena and ideologies will be, and are, highly influential when society determines its leaders and decision-makers through "electoral democracy."

Everyone has their own utopia, their own version of paradise!

This perception plays a major role in the emergence of preferences.

In electoral democracies, the conversation inevitably turns to the identities and personalities of the candidates seeking to be decision-makers.

The identity and personality of the individuals or groups who will govern society gain importance.

In "electoral democracies," the voter's attention also focuses on the individuals and personalities running for office.

If society is to take action, even if only through the vote it casts, it looks at the personality of the leaders it will follow.

It takes care to ensure they are trustworthy people.

It even observes their attire, their style of speech, and their human relations, thinking that these reflect their personality. 

Without forgetting that a sweet tongue can charm a snake out of its hole, that giving hope will enable the voter to hope, and that hoping will make life easier!

We have another election ahead of us. 

As in every political election, the public will either change the existing administrators or decide for them to continue in their duties.

It will evaluate their general political outlooks together with concrete living conditions.

With this election, the person or persons they choose as decision-makers will be voting on their stance regarding security, their attitudes toward the improvement or deterioration of their own living conditions, the ideology and lifestyle they adhere to, and their personalities.

Existing objective conditions will reveal the preference in the voting.

Provided, of course, that abnormalities do not interfere with the election environment. And that there are no manipulations!
