In the Eastern Mediterranean and our region, the existence of the Palestinian state, alongside the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is of great importance against imperialist plans and threats.

It is significant that the President, in his speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, emphasized that projects in the Eastern Mediterranean excluding Turkey and the TRNC cannot succeed, and invited the international community to recognize the TRNC and establish diplomatic, political, and economic relations.

Likewise, the call for the recognition of Palestine as a state, and the fact that many countries have recognized the State of Palestine one after another, is also important.

In this sense, Palestine and Cyprus should not be evaluated separately from each other.

Under these conditions, the Presidential elections to be held in the TRNC on Sunday, October 19, 2025, carry a special meaning beyond just who will be the 11th President.

Continuing effective efforts in every field, especially diplomacy, regarding the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is located in the heart of the Blue Homeland, and the acceptance of an equal-status, two-state structure on the island, holds a critical place for both our country and our region.
