We are facing the danger of food prices, which are already expensive due to current high inflation, rising even further.

The reality that the importance of food, energy, and water will be even better understood in the future is already standing before us...

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ortaş, a faculty member at the Çukurova University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, draws attention to the problems awaiting us in food, particularly yield losses in agricultural production such as garden crops, following the agricultural frost event, and calls on authorities to take early precautions...

Professor İbrahim Ortaş emphasizes that problems such as product loss and quality decline have emerged due to this frost event, which occurred especially during the flowering period of fruit trees. His warning that 'a shortage of vegetables and fruits may be experienced this year' is very serious.

His remarks regarding the potential for serious difficulties in stone fruits, potatoes, and greenhouse vegetables reveal the dimensions of the issue.

The danger of prices, which are already expensive due to current high inflation, rising even further is at our doorstep.

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ortaş emphasizes that the issue must be analyzed holistically and early precautions must be taken. Otherwise, the poor and those living on fixed incomes who already have trouble accessing food may be forced to buy fruits and vegetables at even higher prices!

While talking about agriculture and food, I would also like to mention the new book by our professor, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kaymakçı, a retired faculty member of the Ege University Faculty of Agriculture. Its title is: “Turkish Agriculture - Imperialist Attack and Solutions”.

For many years, Professor Mustafa Kaymakçı has been writing books and articles on agriculture and livestock, and in the events and broadcasts he attends, he emphasizes the implementation of national agricultural policies with an anti-imperialist stance.

He conveys the path that must be followed and the solutions for agriculture, which is of great importance for humanity and for the future of our country and all of us.

In addition to the structural problems of agricultural production, the book also contains findings and solutions regarding the problem of the vast majority being unable to access qualified and sufficient food.
