The region, whose borders were drawn with a ruler a century ago to suit the needs of imperialist powers, has turned into a site of restructuring with the entry of new actors like Russia into the field…
Even if it is said to have been shelved, the Greater Middle East Project (GMEP) continues to maintain its relevance, despite being periodically disrupted by the efforts of regional power centers…
A new war of partition is being waged in the Middle East. It is very difficult to understand the current situation without trying to grasp the issues independently of imperialism, and without overlooking the new actors, those who want to have a say again, and the forces behind proxy wars.
Iraq was divided by US imperialism. They want to divide Syria as well. The ultimate target is Turkey! Can a Turkey where remote-controlled statelets are being sought to be established on its borders be kept exempt from this picture?
But there are also those who want to read the picture through 'neo-Ottomanist dreams.' We have watched this movie before! It is necessary to stop the romanticism and the daydreaming. It is necessary to stop looking at issues through a sectarian lens. The integrity of Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon is the integrity of Turkey!
We have no choice but to implement the region-centered foreign policy of our great leader, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk!
It is useful to recall once again the three pieces of advice that Atatürk gave to young diplomats and young Mülkiye graduates, which Prof. Dr. Barış Doster frequently mentions in his writings and lectures:
1) Keep your distance from imperialist states. Do not get too close to them.
2) Definitely prioritize relations with Moscow.
3) Do not interfere in the problems between Arab countries or in the internal affairs of Arab states.
A region-centered foreign policy, a Turkey that is friendly and a partner with its neighbors, will thwart all the plans of US imperialism and its satellite, Israel. Thus, we will also protect our own security and integrity. The words of our great leader continue to serve as a guide: “Peace at home, peace in the world”.
DECEMBER 5 WORLD WOMEN'S RIGHTS DAY
Under the leadership of Atatürk, the Republic has achieved great breakthroughs for all of us, and most of all for the liberation of women. At the same time, the Republic is a women's revolution. In the early years of our Republic, with a series of laws enacted starting in 1930, the right to participate in municipal elections, and then the right to vote and be elected as a member of parliament, was granted with the legal amendment made to the Constitution and the Election Law on December 5, 1934. Following the acquisition of the right to vote and be elected by women in Turkey on December 5, 1934, which is also World Women's Rights Day, 17 female deputies entered the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) in the first elections held on February 8, 1935. Tomorrows where women are not murdered, do not suffer violence or persecution, do not face discrimination or oppression, and live equally and freely; will be built by all of us, men and women together, by upholding the Republic, secularism, labor, and fundamental rights.
Without forgetting…
The Newborn Gang Case, which is an indicator of the point our health system has reached as a result of privatizations and is one of the events that has wounded consciences the most in our history, continues. My greatest wish is for all the criminals, from those who gave the orders to those at the very bottom, to be given the heaviest sentences.
